Prepositions: Can you define them? Objects, nouns, must always follow preps to complete the prepositional phrase. Recall my cheesy dog and house illustration!

NEVER join two independent clauses with merely just a comma! Doing
so creates a run-on with a comma splice.
Conjunctions: join / connect things; **Coordinating: connect words of equal importance; they are especially important because they along with a comma are used to join TWO independent clauses together. REMEMBER: absonfy!
Correlative: word PAIRS that join words or groups of words. Both...and either...or neither...nor not only...but also whether...or
**Subordinating: introduce subordinate (dependent) clauses--clauses that can't stand
alone as sentences.
