The evidence base from the advice we deliver across this network informs our campaigning for new laws, policies and the structural change that will end Scotland’s housing emergency. Main ObjectiveTo lead and manage Shelter Scotland’s Services in line with our strategy and plans, reporting to the Director of Shelter Scotland.Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Director:Support the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in providing the leadership of the organisation. Have cross cutting responsibilities such as chairing key boards/steering groups.Overtly role model the behaviours that our organisational culture requires.Have responsibility, along with ELT, for implementing organisation wide initiatives including the culture development programme and new brand position. Take collective responsibility for internal communication, leading on cascading communications.Leadership and management of Services:To develop and deliver Shelter Scotland’s Services, meeting agreed objectives and KPI’s.To ensure a sustainable income base for all activities, through collaboration with the Assistant Director of Business Development and Income Generation colleagues. To identify and act on opportunities to develop activities which further our Strategic Purpose and goals. Management and Resources:As a member of the Directorate Leadership Team (DLT), work with the Director of Shelter Scotland, the Assistant Director of Communications and Advocacy and the Assistant Director of Business Development to provide leadership across Shelter Scotland. To line manage the 4 Hubs Managers and the Operations Manager and ensure effective management across this operational leadership team for Services as a whole. To ensure the effective management of the Services budget, including financial reporting. Internal and external To ensure that key messages are coordinated with Communications and Advocacy and with colleagues in Shelter England when required.To work constructively with Corporate Partners and colleagues in Income Generation. Terms and conditions may vary according to circumstances and this summary does not form part of any subsequent employment contract.Probationary period:6 months with a review at 3 months. During the first 3 months the contract may be terminated with 1 weeks’ notice, thereafter it will be 2 weeks up to the end of the probation period.Annual Leave:30 days annual leave and 8 bank holidays per annum (pro rata for part time staff and those working less than a year)Pension:Contributory pension through AEGON, on condition the member of staff contributes at least 2%. Members of staff will be auto-enrolled in the pension on completion of three months employment.The employer’s pension contribution will reduce to 7.5% on 1 April 2022 in a phased introduction.
