Features and Terminology

Fan Motor Size

Our motors use the highest quality materials to provide both reliable and quiet

performance. Throughout this catalog, motor sizes are listed as Diameter x Height in

millimeters (188 x 18 for example)

Dual Mount

This feature allows many of our fans to be installed without the downrod in a ¡°Close

To Ceiling¡± configuration. In this catalog, fans with this feature include a dimension

labeled ¡°CTC¡± indicating the height of the fan when installed without a downrod.

Universal Light Kit

Fan light fixtures designated in this catalog as ¡°universal style¡± can be installed on

any fan in this catalog that accepts an accessory light kit.

Optional Light Fixture Installation

When this feature is indicated, the necessary components are provided in the

package for installing the fan with or without the included light fixture.

Fan Controls

See page 49 of this catalog for wired or remote control accessories to operate your

fan and light.

Several fans in this catalog include either a standard remote or a full function remote

control; both operate the fan speeds and provide full-range dimming for the light

fixture. A full function remote also provides reverse control of the fan motor for yearround comfort.

Energy Star

Fans that meet Energy Star standards are certified to provide energy efficient air

movement. Fan lights must meet the same standard as residential lighting to qualify

for Energy Star. Since no incandescent light meets this standard, a fan that includes a

light fixture that is not fluorescent cannot be certified as Energy Star.

Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT)

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT) established a comprehensive, long-range

energy policy. It provides incentives for traditional energy production as well as newer,

more efficient energy technologies and conservation.

Under EPACT, any ceiling fan with included lighting or any ceiling fan lighting

accessory, beginning with products produced January 1, 2007, must:

? Include an Energy Star (v3.0) screw-in compact fluorescent lamp for each medium

base socket, or

? Meet Energy Star (v4.0) requirements for lighting (pin-base compact fluorescent

only)

? For fan lights that use other lamp bases, such as candelabra, the law defers a

decision until a future date, but no later than 2009

The product descriptions in this catalog have been updated to reflect compliance with

EPACT. Products produced prior to January 1/07 will continue to ship until inventory

is depleted.
