The something could be a person, place or even a thing. A Proper Noun is the name of an IMPORTANT person, place or thing. Examples of this are your name (David) or the school’s name (Royal Mile Primary School).Go to your Active Learn. I have allocated you an interactive activity called “Common and Proper Nouns”.ActivitySort the words into the 2 categories of “Common Noun” and “Proper Nouns”.Once you have sorted the nouns try to write a sentence for each of them. Remember to put a capital letter at the beginning and a piece of punctuation at the end (full stop, question mark or exclamation mark). This week let’s practice Rounding.Use the Learn Screen “All Ears” for a quick recap. Then play the “All Ears” game to see if you have remembered this learning. If you would like more of a challenge try the Learn Screen “Pinball Whiz” and it’s partner game “Pinball Whiz”.You need to remember to use your Place Value learning (units, tens, hundreds, etc) in this learning.SpellingMaths & NumeracyThis week in P4 we are practising words with the pattern “ar”.We can find this pattern at the start, in the middle or at the end of a word.Play the games “Farm Market” and “Gold Letter Day” on Education City to help you with this pattern. You can search for it or find it in the Everyone folder in the Homework section.Go to the bottom of this grid to see a list of Spelling Activities and a list of your words for this week. You will notice some patterns in these words. For example, it is usually a k (not a c) after the ar sound, i.e. dark, bark, shark and not darc, barc, sharc. As I say in class this is something we usually see. There are some words that don’t follow this pattern but there are not very many.We are going to continue to revise Telling the Time. This week we are going to practise converting times between a 12 hour and a 24 hour clock. Use the Education City Learn Screens “Like Clockwork” and “Time Bandit”.Practise these games to see how well you have remembered this learning.Snoozing Time / Time Bandit / In Safe HandsFor those who need some extra reminders use the Education City Learn Screens called Half-time Scores, Quarter Master and Five Minutes.Religious & Moral EducationModern Languages - SpanishExpressive Arts and P.E.RamadanThis is a very special time for Muslims.
