Provider Search Instructions
We make it easy to find doctors, hospitals, facilities and other health care providers in our network. You can search our current list of participating primary care providers, specialists and hospitals with our easy-to-use online search tool. Below are instructions and tips to help you with your search.
To do a Search:
1. Enter Zip/City/County to find a provider near you. 2. Select the Provider Type* you want to search for using the drop-down menu. 3. Your active plan will display in the field `Plan' by default. 4. Select the checkbox Primary Care Physician, if you are looking for Primary Care Physician. 5. Primary Care Physician checkbox will be selected by default, if you are updating a PCP provider. 6. Advanced Filter Options are available to refine the search by provider gender, provider specialty, distance and other
criteria. 7. When you have finished entering your search criteria, select the Search button or Enter. If you would like to search for
a different provider, select the Clear button.
*Below are 6 different provider types you can use to search for providers: z Doctors/Medical Professionals z Hospital / Facility z Pharmacy z Hospital z Dental (This will display based on the eligibility on your plan) z Durable Medical Equipment
Advanced filter options:
The Advanced Filter Options lets you further refine your search by choosing filters such as Provider Name, Provider Gender, Provider Specialty, Provider Languages Spoken, High Performing Provider, Easy Access Provider, and more. You can select more than one filter and you can use the checkbox feature to easily filter your search by providers who are accepting new patients, Board Certified, offer extended hours, etc. Use the `Search Within' filter to search based on how far you are willing to travel. The `Search by Address' link allows you to define your search by any address. You can select or provide as many filter options as you want. The more advance filter options you select, will return more specific results. If no results are found based on the search criteria entered, you can refine the search by selecting fewer / different filter options. You can hover your mouse over a blue question mark icon next to a filter to learn more about using that filter.
Find a Specialist: To help search for providers by specialty, you can type search terms into the `Specialty' field and choose a specialty from the autofill options. For example, if you type in:
z "Skin" the system will return Dermatology, Dermatology Pediatrics. z "Eye" the system will return Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology Pediatric. z "Foot" the system will return Podiatry. OR if you type `SUR' the system will return below autofill options. z SURGERY, PEDIATRIC z SURGERY-ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL (D & M Affils) z SURGERY-THORACIC/CARDIOVASCULAR z SURGERY-VASCULAR z SURGICAL ONCOLOGY
As soon as you enter more characters `SURGI' the autofill options will reduce to z SURGICAL ONCOLOGY
FIND A DENTAL PROVIDER (This option will available based on the eligibility on your plan) When the Dental provider type is selected, you will be redirected to our Delta Dental PDF where you can search our Dental Directory or to an external dental search page based on the eligibility on your plan. If your plan does not offer Dental coverage, then Dental Provider Type will not be available for you.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES Maps feature lets you to view provider locations on the map and get directions. You can save and print your provider search results using the "Export As" link below the map view on the Provider Search Results page. Search results will be exported as a PDF. Members can report possible inaccurate information by using the "Click to report error" link found at the bottom of the search results page. If you encounter a problem with search, please call AvMed Member Services at the phone number on the back your ID card. TTY users call 711.
