Use the screed board to strike off the concrete. Start at one end of the form and use a sawing motion to level off the concrete. Make sure to rest the board on top of the forms and that the concrete is not below the form boards.5. Tap the outside of the form boards with a hammer to move course aggregate away from the boards. 6. Float the top of the concrete with a magnesium or wooden float.7. Run the edger along the form to create the rounded upper edge.8. After the concrete has set a little, trowel the top with a finishing trowel for a smooth surface. 9.
