Character Wordle – DUE Tuesday 29 November

Assignment: Create a character Wordle using key words or phrases that tell something

important about the character.

Requirements:

1. Choose either Huck Finn or Jim

2. Wordle MUST depict the character’s importance in the novel including his impact, role and

connection to a theme.

Procedure:

• As you are reading Huckleberry Finn, keep track of quotes about Huck and Jim that relate to the six categories listed below. You might highlight them in your book, or mark them with sticky notes.

• When you are ready to create your Wordle, choose either Huck or Jim, and write or type the required number of quotes (including internal documentation) that provide the best textual evidence for the categories.

A. Physical description / physical qualities (1 quote)

B. Personal background information (1 quote)

C. Relationships (2 quotes)

D. Values/Beliefs (2 quotes)

E. Growth/Change throughout the novel. (2 quotes)

• Circle at least 3 important phrases from each of the 8 quotes (a total of 24 phrases).

• Go to and type in the 24 phrases.

• Change the font and layout to create the best effect and then print.

• Staple your 8 quotes to the back of the character Wordle.

If you do not have access to the intent, you can write a character poem as follows:

Choose 15+ phrases from your 8 quotes above and write them in separate lines so that they tell something important about the character, forming a “character poem.” Remember that the poem must reflect his impact, role and connection to a theme. The poem should be at least 15 lines long. Staple your quotes to the back of your character poem.
