Instructions for all office versions prior to Office 2007.

Overview: These games are designed for whole class participation with no preparation time. Simply get your vocabulary or test questions in hand and then open and start the race. There are two to choose from, the Horse Race or Beach Rally Car Race. The horse race has six horses allowing for up to six teams or individuals, and requires seven correct responses to cross the finish line. The car game is shorter. It has five cars allowing for up to five teams or individuals, and requires five correct responses to cross the finish line

These games are designed for whole class participation. For best results use an LCD projector or TV to display the game to students.

Game Requirements: Game requires computer running Microsoft Windows XP or higher with Microsoft Office 2003 or above. Macintosh Computers not supported at this time.

How to Play

1. Divide your class into two to six teams (only five are possible for car race).

2. With your questions in hand, open the Race file of your choice. Select “Slide Show Menu”, then choose “View Show”.

3. Ask the first team a question if they get it right click the corresponding button at the bottom to move their teams race object ahead one space. (For the car race click the corresponding blimp above.)

4. 7 correct responses (5 for the car race) will win the race.

Note: If you are using a version of Microsoft Office prior to Office 2000 some of the functions in these games may not function properly. It is advised that you do your editing of the slides in the older version that you are using but use a PowerPoint viewer for actual game play. A link to the PowerPoint 2007 viewer is below:
