Official Rules & RegulationsBoys & Girls Club of Sparta Inc. - Golf Ball Drop 2020The Contest: Persons, age 18 or older, who purchase a single ticket for $25, or three tickets for $50, will be entered in the Golf Ball Drop game to take place on May 20, 2020 at approximately 4:30 pm., immediately after all the teams have completed the course at the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta Annual Golf Benefit at River Run Golf Course, Sparta, WI. Participants may purchase as many tickets as they wish at the prices stated above, provided the number of golf balls are available. Only 500 balls will be available for entry and tickets will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis. Participants will be assigned a numbered golf ball for each raffle ticket purchased until a maximum of 500 tickets are sold. Credit or debit card purchases are subject to an additional $3 processing fee per transaction. The processing fee is not included in the prize money pool. The Drop: All sold numbered golf balls will be placed randomly into a container and dropped from a (helicopter, aerial platform fire truck, cherry picker) onto the assigned target. (The numbered balls will be provided for the event by Boys & Girls Club of Sparta Inc., and will remain the property of the Boys & Girls Club.) The participant whose ball goes into the hole or is closest to the hole will be declared the winner. In event of a tie, see Item 4 below.The Prize: This is a 50/50 raffle…if a single winner is declared, 50% of Golf Ball Drop ticket sales proceeds go to that winner! The actual prize amount will be announced prior to the drop. (If all 500 balls are sold, this prize will be over $4000.00!) THE ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND ON THE NUMBER OF VALID ENTRIES RECEIVED.The Rules: If more than one qualified ball goes into the hole, the prize will be divided among those qualified winners. If no qualified golf ball goes into the hole, the winner will be determined by measurement by the independent judges of the four golf balls nearest the hole, with the nearest qualified golf ball being declared the winner. If the judges determine that there is a tie among these balls, the prize will be shared equally among those winners. Location closest to the hole will be taken of at least four qualified numbers from the list in case there is any question of eligibility.Announcement of Prize Winner(s): Winners need not be present to win. The winner or winners will be announced after the winner(s) have been determined. The Winner(s) will also be posted on the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta web site following the live announcement. Alternative Process: If some unforeseen event prevents conduction of the Golf Ball Drop as outlined above, an alternate date will be scheduled within 30 days, with the date set at the discretion of the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta and River Run Golf Course. The winner will be announced immediately following the ball drop and need not be present to win. The name will be posted on the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta website: Purchasing Tickets: Golf Ball Drop Tickets (up to 500) will be available for sale at , the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta, 1000 E Montgomery Street, Sparta, WI 54656, and at specified other locations. Donations are non-refundable. Tickets will be for sale until 4 pm the day of the Golf Ball Drop, or when all tickets have been sold, if that occurs prior to May 20, 2020.Tracking Tickets: The Business Manager of the Boys & Girls Club, Patty Elsen, shall be responsible for maintaining the list of tickets sold and the name, address, email and telephone number of the purchaser of each ticket, and have that list available for auditing and inspection by the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta Inc. (and any interested members of the public) to insure the openness and integrity of the Golf Ball Drop Raffle.Eligible Participants: Participants must be 18 years of age or older to purchase a ticket and win the prize. All officers, employees and members of the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta are eligible to purchase tickets and to win the prize(s), however the independent judges who will decide the winner(s) of the golf ball drop are ineligible to win. Verification of eligibility and identity may be required before releasing the prize.Notification of Winner: If the winner is not present at the time of the announcement of the golf ball drop winner, then the winner will be notified by email, telephone and/or US Postal mail. If the winner cannot be located or fails to claim the prize within thirty (30) days after notification, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to the next winner in line.Forfeiting of Prize: If no winner comes forth after attempting to contact the four separate, sequential winners as provided in the rules above, then the prize will be forfeited to the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta, to be used in furtherance of its mission to support the children of Sparta.Miscellaneous: Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries (up to 500) received by the deadline set forth above.All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.Void where prohibited by law.All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the individual winner.The funds raised at this event will be used to support the programs of the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit tax exempt corporation.Decisions by the Golf Ball Drop Independent Judges on all aspects of the raffle will be binding and final.The prize will not be awarded, and will be forfeited, if the ticket was issued in exchange for a donation by check returned for “insufficient funds” or by a credit card charge deemed “declined”, “invalid”, or “stolen”.The Boys & Girls Club of Sparta may amend these rules as appropriate to ensure the fairness and original intent of the contest.The donations for tickets to this raffle are not tax deductible.The source of the funds to award prizes is the pool of funds from raffle tickets sold. Release of Liability: By participating, each participant releases, discharges, indemnifies, and holds harmless the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta Inc., River Run Golf Course, (the owner of the vehicle used for the drop),any parent, subsidiary, successor and affiliated companies/organizations, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives and promotional agencies (collectively the “Releases”) from any and all liability, loss, harm, injury, damage, cost and expense whatsoever arising directly or indirectly from the receipt of the prize or participation in the raffle. ................
