TITLE: Early Reading Interventionist

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree preferred

Meets the educational requirements as mandated in the No Child

Left Behind legislation

Demonstrated ability to communicate with colleagues, follow instructions and use problem solving skills to work as an effective member of the instructional team

Effective oral and written communication skills

Willingness to learn new tasks

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISED BY: Classroom Teacher

JOB GOAL: To assist in providing academic intervention in small group settings

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares for and implements small group activities under the supervision of a highly qualified teacher.

2. Works with students to deliver direct instruction.

3. Maintains confidentiality concerning student records, data and personal information.

4. Utilizes planning time in the classroom under the direction of the teacher.

5. Guides independent study and enrichment work.

6. Supervises a small group of students.

7. Assists students by providing proper examples, emotional support, and a friendly attitude.

8. Confers with teacher concerning materials to meet students’ needs.

9. Participates in Professional Development activities.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 days. Salary to be determined by the salary schedule established by the Board.

EVALUATED BY: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal.
