We incorporated the group in the State of Michigan in September 2005 as the Allen Creek Greenway Conservancy. We have been granted 501.3.c status under federal law and have created a proposed route for the Greenway. The ACGC has sponsored and cooperated with several studies of the Greenway. The economics of the Greenway were examined, several years ago, by graduate students at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. This fall, a group of graduate students in the Urban and Regional Planning Program at the University of Michigan will develop and propose a master plan for the Greenway.Currently, I am working with my ACGC colleague, Joe O’Neal, to advise inForm Architects on their draft proposal for the “SkyTrail” project, a bridge crossing North Main Street in Ann Arbor. The propose bridge would connect the Allen Creek Greenway with existing trails along the Huron River.Urban Design AdvocatesAnn Arbor, Michigan, 2000-2002UDA, an ad hoc urban design action group, prepared a “Greater Downtown Ann Arbor Urban Design Principles and Checklist” as a guide for citizens, developers, and civic officials in March 2000. We also met with the Democratic (majority) caucus of the Ann Arbor City Council to promote a thoughtful approach to the proposed expansion of City Hall. In 2002, we developed a “Prospectus for an Ann Arbor Downtown Greenway” which also addressed storm water issues associated with Allen’s Creek.Property Planning Committee / Huron Valley Girl Scout Council Ann Arbor, Michigan, Fall 2001-Spring 2002The Property Planning Committee was appointed by the HVGSC Board to study and prepare a set of recommendations for the development of the Council’s three camps over the next 20 years. We prepared a report outlining options for the Council.I Professional ServiceHuron Valley Chapter, American Institute of ArchitectsAmerican Institute of Architects / AIAAwards Program Juror (invited)Toledo (Ohio) High School Architectural Design Competition and Scholarship ProgramToledo (Ohio) Chapter, American Institute of ArchitectsApril 14, 2014ArchiFest 2012Designer, poster for ArchiFest 2012October 2012Awards Program Juror 2012 (invited)Annual Awards Jury for AIA Toledo ChapterMarch 24, 2012ArchiFest 2012Designer, poster and graphics for ArchiFest 2010October 2010Committee MemberHVAIA Public Awareness Committee2010-2012“The Riverboat Center”AIAS National Student Architecture CompetitionCompetition author for the American Institute ofArchitecture Students annual competition, winter 1989Miscellaneous ArticlesContributed articles to AIA publications as noted in Non-refereed Publications, above ................
