For the 3 gear combinations in question 3, how fast would TankBot move if you replaced the 1 to 1 gear ratio with each gear combination. Assume the gear on the left goes on the motor axle, and the gear on the right goes on the rear wheel axle. For the worm gear, can you figure out which gear MUST go on the motor axle? Show your work.

Remember that the speed of rotating axles is reduced by the gear ratio. The equation is

new speed = old speed / gear ratio

1) new speed = 120 / 3 = 40 cm/sec

2) new speed = 120 / (5/3) = 72 cm/sec

3) new speed = 120 / 40 = 3 cm/sec
