OPEN CLASS RULES & REGULATIONS FOR 2019 Entries to the open class will be limited to Buena Vista and the surrounding counties of Cherokee, Clay, Sac, Ida and Pocahontas. Anyone entering anything for judging must enter it in the name of the person who made the object. These objects should have been made in the last TWO (2) years and have not been entered into the BV County Fair Open Class before. When entering, you must supply a Full name, current address and telephone number. Entries are open to anyone whose exhibit represents a recreational hobby and is not done for profit. Entries limited to ONE entry per exhibitor per Class number and Lot number. (i.e.: Division A: Horticulture, Class 1 – Vegetables, Lot 222, Peppers, 4 green bell – ONE entry). This will be enforced. The right is reserved to accept or reject any entry offered. All pictures, samplers, plaques, wall hangings and photography MUST be equipped to hang. Please write name, address, and phone number on back of each photography entry. (Mailing address labels are appropriate to use – please add phone number. Do not write on the back of the photograph as it may damage it.) Entries will be awarded blue (first place), red (second place), or white (third place). Cash premiums will be awarded for all 3 ribbons. Out of all the blue ribbons in each class, one will be awarded a purple (Class Champion); this award will receive $1 more than a blue ribbon. Out of the Class Champions in each division, one Best of Show ribbon will be awarded. i.e.: Division C Textiles has classes 21-26, so there would be six Class Champions awarded – out of these six, one Best of Show ribbon would be given. Best of Show forfeits their blue ribbon premium to accept the $5 Best of Show Premium and Best of Show ribbon. Ribbon placing is at the desecration of the judges.
