AP Studio Art: 2D Design Summer Assignments:1 - Purchase supplies.The school has some supplies but they are used by 200 other students and are often abused and worn out. To help you succeed and achieve your greatest potential, you may want to purchase supplies that will be used exclusively by you. If you do they cannot be included in your AP portfolio.Assignment 1 - Color What?This is a color investigation and assignment. You will pick a color of your choice and look up what that color represents, or what it’s meaning is. In our society, color is often associated with certain themes or an idea like a red rose is for love and a bride often wears a white wedding dress symbolizing purity. Written Assignment – Pick your color and write a paragraph or two detailing what your color represents, what it’s meaning is, and how it is used in our society. This should be between 100 to 300 words long.Art Project-Using colored pencil, art markers, or colored ink pens, create a monochromatic picture that uses objects or ideas that represent the colors meaning. (Monochromatic means containing or using only one color.)Assignment #2 - Comic SelfieCreate a self‐portrait in a comic book illustration style. Use pen and ink for line drawing; use colored inks or watercolor for adding color.Assignment #3 - Interior SpacesDraw an unusual interior. For instance, looking inside a closet, cabinet, refrigerator, an opened package, or the junk drawer in your kitchen, inside your car. Or think more conceptually: the inside of your heart, of your mind or the inside of somebody else’s mind. You may also want to consider the visual and conceptual contrast of a piece that includes elements of the inside and the outside of something. ................
