TradeSafe strongly recommends creating a TradeSafe folder in your My Documents path where you can safely save TradeSafe files for future use. Saving to the Desktop will only add to the usual desktop clutter. Also, saving it to the Downloads folder is not recommended unless you organize that folder into subfolders for each of your many sources for downloaded files.NOTE: TradeSafe Support does not include how to use your email system, save attached files, or basic operating system operations. This kind of support is subject to a minimum 1 hr. support surcharge, so please do NOT request a TradeSafe Support appointment until you have saved all files from your email to a TradeSafe file folder on your computer where you can find it.Installation InstructionsFollow these instructions to properly install the TradeSafe system into NinjaTrader 7.Extract Installation filesOnce you have safely saved the TradeSafe files from your email to your file system, find the TradeSafe System Installation Package.zip file and Extract All of the files to a folder of the same name in the same folder where you saved the zip file.Use Windows File Explorer to open the folder where you extracted the Installation Package files. This is not an Internet browser window -- IE or otherwise. It is the File Explorer used to navigate the file system in Windows. The Window should look something like this:The folder for the extracted installation package should include the following documentation, support files and folders.Release Notes – Description of what is new in this release.Trade Safe System Session Template Guide – How to create session templates used by TradeSafe.Trade Safe System NinjaTrader ATM Setup Guide – How to setup ATM exit strategies used by TradeSafe.Indicator -- A folder that contains default settings for the indicators used by TradeSafe.TradeSafe Sounds -- A folder that contains sound files used by the Trend indicator to issue alerts.TradeSafe Workspace Basic Default (NQ).xml -- The Default Workspace file for the NQ.TradeSafe Workspace Basic Default (TF).xml -- The Default Workspace file for the TF.TradeSafeBasicSystemProgramCode.zip -- The program code file. Do not ever extract this file!NOTE: Open and read the Release Notes for relevant information about this release. When finished reading the release notes, open a second File Explorer folder to the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 folder. It should look something like this:Place the two File Explorer folder windows side by side so you can copy and paste from one to another.First Time InstallationIf you are installing for the first time, you need to create session templates and ATM exit strategies. This only needs to be done once, so now is the best time to do it.You will need to start NinjaTrader 7 and have the Control Center ready. You do not need to be connected to a data feed right now, but you will need to connect later before opening and configuring the workspace, so connect now or later.Find the Trade Safe System Session Template Guide and Trade Safe System NinjaTrader ATM Setup Guide. They are PDF files in the extracted installation package folder. The Session Template guide tells you how create the templates and how to properly set the Instrument Manager to the correct default template. You must do both. The ATM Set Up guide tells you how to create the four exit strategies used by TradeSafe. However, the ATM strategies for the NQ have different settings than those for the TF, so when you are finished, you will have eight in all.Session Templates and Instrument Manager Default TemplatesThe guide walks you through how to create the day only and the full session templates for many classes of instruments -- Eminis, Metals, Energy, etc. – and how to set each instrument to the proper default template; but for now, as part of the initial installation, only setup the Emini templates, and set only the NQ and TF instruments in Instrument Manager to the default Emini template. You can go back and setup the other templates and instruments later if you choose to use them.ATM Exit StrategiesFollow the directions in the TradeSafe - ATM Set Up to create the exit strategies used by TradeSafe. There will be four ATM exit strategies for the NQ and four for the TF.Once the session templates and ATM strategies are created, they should not need to be changed or created again.Install the TradeSafe Support FilesThis section explains how to install the support files, not the code file. That will come later. To avoid error messages indicating missing support files, you must first install the support files. After that, you can install the code file, so please follow the instructions in the order presented.WARNING:DO NOT EVER extract the TradeSafeBasicSystemProgramCode zip file. It is the code file and must never be extracted. If you extract it and try to import it, you will get compile errors. To correct the errors, you will need to either contact NinjaTrader Support, or be subject to a minimum 1 hr. TradeSafe Support surcharge for not following these instructions. The following instructions refer to copy and paste operations From the extracted Installation Package File Explorer window you previously opened. To the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 File Explorer windows you previously opened.Sounds and Indicator FoldersCopy the Indicator folder from the Installation Package folder to the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > templates path. The Indicator folder you are copying will be merged with the one that is already there, and might ask if you want to Copy and Replace all the existing files. That is what you want to do.Copy the TradeSafe Sounds folder from the Installation Package folder to the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 path. If a sounds folder is already there, the one you copy will replace the one that is there, so you want to Copy and Replace all of the files.Default WorkspaceTo install the workspace files, TradeSafe Workspace Basic Default (xx).xml:copy them to the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Workspaces path replacing any existing files, if asked.Install the Code FileIf you have not already done so, open NinjaTrader 7and make sure you have a Data Connection. If you skipped the Session Template and ATM Setup, now is the time to set them up to avoid a small amount of extra work later.Even if you have the TS Basic System installed, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the code file so it can load the revised chart templates.Go to the Control Center: File menu and select Utilities > Remove NinjaScript Assembly … .If a previous version of the TradeSafe assembly is listed, Click on the listed TradeSafe assembly to highlight itRemove it by clicking on the Remove button.Close the window.Restart Ninja.Go to the Control Center: File > Utilities >menu and select Import NinjaScript …Navigate to the folder on your computer where you extracted the Installation Package files and find the code assembly file -- TradeSafeBasicSystemProgramCode.zip– Single click the file to select it.Press Open in the lower right hand corner of the import window.Accept the trusted source question, and if requested, allow replacement of any existing chart templates. You should receive a message that the code file has been successfully installed. Now that the support files and TradeSafe System code files are installed, you need to make adjustments to the default workspace and save it, and then create a trading workspace.Finalize and Save the Default WorkspacesThis section explains how to finalize the appearance of the default workspaces to fit your monitor(s) and save them as your default workspaces – one for each instrument you trade. The saved defaults are used as a backup workspace just in case your main trading workspace gets corrupted in some way.Perform the following procedure for each default workspace.Open the default workspace for the instrument you want to finalize by going to the Control Center: File menu and selectWorkspaces > Open Workspaces …From the list of workspaces, select the default workspace for the instrument you are interested in. Using NQ as the example, selectTradeSafe Workspace Basic Default (NQ) and press OK.If you are configuring TF, select that workspace. When all of the charts have loaded, you will need to change the instrument to the current contract – NQ mm-yy. Do this by going to the upper left-hand corner of any chart, and click on the instrument drop down list. Select the current contract from the list.If it is not there, you will need to go to the Instrument Manager to add it. See the NinjaTrader Help system for help with that. Hint: Go to the Control Center: Help menu and select Support … to go to the NinjaTrader support website for tutorials daily webinars, video library and the YouTube channel and search for Instrument Manager. Once the current instrument is loaded on all workspace charts, proceed to the next step.Rearrange the chart windows to fit your monitor. The usual TradeSafe Dashboard arrangement is to put the 3 min chart in the upper left-hand corner of the monitor with the 9 min chart just below it so each one occupies about 50% of the monitor height, and about 25% of the monitor width.233 Tick and 144 Tick on the right side of the monitor, also about 50% of the monitor height each and 25% of the monitor width.1 min chart in the middle spanning the width of the monitor between the 3/9 and the 233/144 tick charts on either side of the monitor. Expand to almost the full height of the monitor leaving 1 – 2 inches at the bottom below the 1 min where you can position the Alert window, resizing it to fit the space.Position the Data Box over the 9 min chart. Right click on the Data Box and uncheck the bottom 3 options.Save the default workspace by going to theControl Center: File > Workspaces … menu and select Save Workspace. This will save the workspace as you see it with the correct chart arrangement.Create a Trading WorkspaceNow, it is time to create your actual trading workspace. To create your trading workspace, go back to the Control Center: File > Workspaces … menu and select Save Workspace as …When the list of workspaces opens, type in whatever name you want to use for your daily trading workspace and press OK.Suggestion: Save the workspace as TradeSafe Workspace Daily Trading (NQ). Or (TF) or whatever …Ninja will now be in your trading workspace, not the default workspace, and you should be ready to begin using the system.Set Rectangle and Horizontal Line to TradeSafe DefaultsThe following describes how to set the defaults for rectangles used to indicate congestion, and horizontal lines for support & resistance and other purposes.Congestion Box DefaultsThe easiest way to draw a rectangle on a chart is to hold down the Ctrl key and press the F12 key at the top of the keyboard (Ctrl + F12).You can also use the pencil icon at the top of the chart, or right click anywhere in the body of a chart, select Drawing Tools and then select Rectangle (too many mouse clicks for me). This will show a pencil on the chart at the center of a set of crosshairs.Position the crosshairs where you want one corner of the rectangle.Left click and hold while dragging the crosshairs to the opposite corner of the rectangle.Double click the border of the rectangle to get a properties dialogue.Set the properties as followsSet the “Attach to” parameter to (All Charts) for the instrument you are configuring, in this case, the TF.Press Set Default to make this the default rectangle that will appear every time you draw one.Press OK to close the dialogueTo remove the rectangle from the chart, single click it and press the Delete key.Horizontal Line DefaultsThe easiest way to draw a rectangle on a chart is to press the F6 key at the top of the keyboard. You can also use the pencil icon at the top of the chart, or right click anywhere in the body of a chart, select Drawing Tools and then select Horizontal Line (too many mouse clicks for me). This will show a pencil on the chart at the center of a set of crosshairs.Position the crosshairs where you want to draw the line.Left click and you will see a horizontal line.Double click the line to get a properties dialogue.Set the properties as followsSet the “Attach to” parameter to (All Charts) for the instrument you are configuring, in this case, the TF.
