Also, the large sign at the entrance was repainted. Only 12 club members, out of over 400, showed up to help and they were rewarded by a fine burger/hotdog lunch cooked by Chef Steve Rogers (because Mike Cox failed to appear). The target committee did a lot of target stand repairs. We know anything down range is subject to being shot. But, please try not to shoot the metal stands. The range itself has been well maintained by members - thanks for taking your "stuff" home with you.President Mark reports the rifle range shed will be started in mid-August. Also, he has checked into rental costs for heavy equipment. A friend and equipment operator, Mike Mills, says he can do all the dirt work we had planned (north service road, law enforcement service road, level proposed trap range area, level expanded rifle range area) in a week - our cost: equipment rental and gas and a club membership. BANQUET/RAFFLE: The annual fundraiser/raffle is set for Feb. 25th, 2017, at the Centennial Center. The raffle tickets will be ordered this coming week. Raffle prizes are: Diamond compound bow with a Rinehart target, a Remington .270 rifle with 3-9x scope, 16-gun safe, and a Mossberg .30-30 rifle. OTHER NEWS: Mark your calendars for October 8th. Steve is working with the Mule Deer Foundation to replant bitterbrush on the club property. Bitterbrush is very important winter browse for deer and all of ours burned up in the Taylor Bridge Fire. The MDF is providing $2000 for seed and plugs. We will need lots of folks to volunteer to come out and help with the planting on Oct. 8th. The MDF will also provide some volunteers. More details later. The 50/50 raffle pot was $40 and Duane Fluent won the drawing for $20. The other half goes in to the pot for the drawing at the banquet. The more meetings you attend the more times your name is in the hat for the big drawing in February. Keep smiling! Steve ................
