Automatic Fuel Maintenance & Conditioning SystemFuel Quality Maintenance SystemThe fuel quality maintenance system is designed as a programmable fuel polishing and filtration system to extend the life of the diesel fuel and protect the components of the diesel engine.The system shall be capable of removing water, sediment, particulate and microbial contamination below the levels stated in ASTM D975 (Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils).Manufacturers:The basis of this design is International Fluid Solutions Model 15A. Other manufacturers may be considered provided they are pre-approved by the engineer 10 days prior to bid date and are in complete compliance with these specifications. The system shall be warranted for a period of one year from date of shipment.Description:The stand alone, factory complete, Ultra-Pure model 15A automatic fuel maintenance and conditioning system shall utilize the following seven stages of filtration.Coalescence Bulk water removal40 mesh primary filtrationEntrained water removal10 micron secondary filtrationEmulsified water removal2 micron final filtrationIn addition, a propriety magnetic fuel conditioning element shall also be provided.The complete system shall be installed at the factory in a two compartment rigid steel enclosure with the control panel in the top compartment and the filters and piping in the lower compartment. The enclosure shall have the following features:Rain and drip proofHinged enclosure doors with handle and gasketDurable powder coat finishMounting legs for ease of floor attachmentsSeparate compartment for controlsEnclosure dimensions shall be 34” wide, 22” deep and 52” overall height.The pump shall be rated at 15GPM / 900GPH and shall be bronze construction with stainless steel shaft.The motor shall be rated a minimum of 2 hp and be close coupled to the pump using a flexible coupling. The AC voltage shall be 120 or 240 volts single phase.The inlet and outlet plumbing size shall be 3/4” NPTAll hose and valve connections shall be double restrained.A priming tee with plug shall be installed on the inlet side of the pump.Flow sights shall be used on all plumbing to assure fluid movement.The enclosure shall be utilized as a sump for leaks and have a capacity of a minimum of 13 gallons and have liquid level sensors to alarm when fuel is detected.The controls shall be mounted in the upper compartment of the enclosure and shall consist of the following:Controller to be UL, cUL and CE listed, PLC micro-processor with back up battery system to provide software integrity during prolonged power loss, shipping and maintenance cycles.All software shall be factory loaded prior to shipment with a permanent copy of each customer’s software to be maintained at the manufacturer’s location.Software updates are to be provided throughout the equipment life time.A full color touch screen interface shall be provided for all user defined programming.There shall be a “Generator Running” provision with both normally open and normally closed contacts to inhibit operation if the generator is running.The controls shall have the capability of programing an automatic waste water dump.There shall be a PIN code protection for user functions.The PLC shall have user selectable remote communications capabilities.The PLC memory shall maintain an event log with error review and tracking for 500 events.The PLC shall have a “power save” mode to conserve power and extend unit life.The controls shall be designed to run on 24/120 volts.Monitoring shall consist of the following functions:Utility power availableDoor open/closeCycle tableHigh PressureLow PressurePump statusGenerator interlockFilter Status with automatic notification featureWater levelFilter leakPump leakSump basin fullMotor overloadExterior lights to include:White –“ready” lampBlue – “running” lampAmber – “ warning” lampRed – “error” lampTwo dry contacts for facility interface for the following:Tank over-flowTank leak detectorSpare filters shall be supplied to include the following:Six 10 micron filter replacement cartridgesSix 2 micron filter replacement cartridgesTwo water strainer replacement cartridgesA complete Installation and Operation Manual shall be provided with the submittals and / or pre-approval request to include the following:Mechanical installationUncrating & initial inspectionPhysical PlacementPlumbingSupply and Return PlumbingElectrical InstallationPrimary Power AC line connectionExternal Lockout / generator RunningOptional Waste Reservoir Level sensorStatus signals connectionsModbus communicationsInitial Testing and Set-UpUsing the Touch Screen PanelInitial Power-UPScreen SaverDate and TimeEnter Maintenance ModeLamp TestErase ScheduleMotor Protection ResetGenerator RunningOther AlarmsInitial Pump Motor TestInitial Pump TestNormal OperationsGeneralTouch Panel OperationsNormal Power-UpExternal Indicator lampsTouch Panel Warnings, Alarms, & indicationsEvent & Alarm LogAbout Screen IndicatorsManual OperationAutomatic OperationWater Separator PurgeMaintenanceElectronics DrawerMaintenance ScreenTime and DateOverload Relay Tripped AlarmSystem ResetFilter ElementsSystem ParametersFuse ReplacementPLC Battery ReplacementSoftware Re-Installation / UpdatePasscodesTroubleshootingUnusual/Abnormal Operations – System ResetPLC Communications Timeout / No PLCTouch Panel Dark / InoperativeContacting Factory for Help ................
