|SUBJECT: |CARE Change Control Release Information – December 19, 2014 |

|Purpose: |To provide information about the CARE Change Control Release on Friday, December 19, 2014 |

|Background: |DSHS is replacing its current Social Service Payment System (SSPS) with a new payment processing system named |

| |ProviderOne. ProviderOne will be the primary provider payment system for DSHS. Most medical providers were |

| |transitioned to the new payment system during Phase 1. Phase 2 of the project will transition all of the social|

| |service providers who are not Individual Providers or individual respite providers. This group includes |

| |community residential providers, home care agencies, other waiver providers, direct client payments and the |

| |medical providers who did not transition during Phase 1 of the ProviderOne project. |

| | |

| |This CARE Change Control Maintenance Release will occur on Friday, December 19, 2014 starting at 5:35 pm. |

|What’s new, changed, or |Friday, December 19th, we will be updating both CARE Production and CARE Practice. This update will begin at |

|Clarified |5:35 PM on 12/19 and be completed by 7 AM on 12/22. The update will enable new ProviderOne screens in the CARE |

| |navigation tree. There will be no changes to the database. |

| | |

| |CARE will be unavailable over the weekend of December 20th while updates are made to support the implementation|

| |of ProviderOne Phase 2. |

| | |

| |Summary of impacts to CARE: |

| |Friday, December 19th: CARE will be off-line after 5:35 PM |

| |Saturday, December 20th: CARE will be off-line |

| |Sunday, December 21st: CARE will be off-line |

| |Monday, December 22nd: CARE will be back on-line at 7 AM and the P1 Authorization screen, RAC Eligibility |

| |screen, and Caseload Auth Errors screen will be enabled. New P1 Authorizations can now be created in CARE; |

| |however, converted P1 Authorizations will not be available in CARE until 12/23. If an attempt is made to create|

| |a new authorization, but the authorization already exists in ProviderOne, an error message will be returned. |

| |Tuesday, December 23rd: Converted SSPS Authorizations will be available within CARE. |

| | |

| |NOTE: CARE may be unavailable intermittently on Monday, December 15Th from 5:35 PM to 8:30 PM. |

|ACTION: |On December 23, 2014, all converted 1099 authorizations will be available in CARE. Begin using the ProviderOne |

| |authorization screens in CARE to authorize payments to 1099 providers. Continue using the Social Service |

| |Payment System (SSPS) to authorize payments to W-2 providers. |

| | |

| |The Assessor’s Manual and Help Screens have been updated to reflect changes related to ProviderOne and other |

| |minor edits. Please see Assessor’s Manual attachment for edits documented in track changes. See CARE Talking |

| |Points Issue 11 attached below for more information about important P1 Go-Live dates and activities. |
