TESOL stands for "Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages" and encompasses what used to be called TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language)

Objective:

ELTAB is designed for candidates who have very limited or no experience of teaching English language. The qualification is an intensive programme of study which will enable candidates to gain a recognized teaching qualification, with a focus for those wishing to specialize in teaching English to either speakers of other languages or for those who wish to teach English Language.

Course Requirements :

1. At least 17 Years of age 2. Foreign students, a high school

qualification and an IELTS score of 6.5 is required to C1 on the CEFR 3. A good basic understanding of literacy, numeracy and ICT equivalent to Level 2 4. Access to at least 3 hours teaching practice in English Language education.

Level 5 Certificate in TESOL (ELTAC)

- RQF level: 3 - Credit: 30 (120 GLH) - Format: Face-to-face or online, with

teaching presentation. - Assessment: Multiple-choice, tests

and assessed teaching presentation.

The qualification is an intensive programme of study which will enable candidates to gain a recognized teaching qualification, with a focus for those wishing to specialize in teaching English to either speakers of other languages or for those who wish to teach English to adults.

Course Outline :

? Knowledge, understanding and skills of teaching, learning and assessment in ELT.

? Developing teaching, learning and assessment in ELT.

? Planning resources for effective delivery of ELT.

? Language Awareness and Analysis to support Skills in ELT: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

? Applied teaching practice in the ELT classroom.

Course Requirements :

1. At least 18 Years of age 2. A High School / STPM / A level's

qualification 3. An IELTS score of 6.5 is required to C1

on the CEFR. Learners without IELTS certificates, should at the advanced level in our ESOL test. 4. A good basic understanding of literacy, numeracy and ICT equivalent to Level 2 and access to at least 12 hours teaching practice in English Language education. 5. Prior basic teaching experience is not a prerequisite as this is an initial teacher training qualification.

TESOL Level 5

RQF LEVEL: 7 ? Format: Face-to-face or online, with teaching

presentation ? Assessment: Multiple-choice tests and assessed

teaching presentation

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 1. At least 21 Years of age or 2. At least 2 years teaching experience or 3. Certificate in TEFL / ELTAC / TESOL or

equivalent. 4. An Undergraduate Degree or equivalent.

Level 7 Diploma in TESOL (ELTAD)

Masters Degree level program in a teaching/education related discipline ? Any other AO qualifications at level 7 or above in teaching/education or other discipline (subject to

individual AO requirements)
