How to Reset When a Terminal Authentication Error Occurred

MagicConnect Mobile and the viewer program of Terminal Authentication-type registers the

specific information of terminal device to MagicConnect server when logging in for the first

time so that the system can associate your account with your terminal.

For this reason, when you change your terminal devices, an authentication error called

¡°Reference Code: 293¡± occurs and you become unable to log in.

This document shows how to reset in order to solve the authentication error when a user

changes their terminal devices.

The error showed to general users

When a user tries to log in, an authentication error is displayed.

Even if the errors were caused by a wrong password, or unmatched terminal authentication

information, the error showed to general users are all ¡°Reference Code:293¡±, and you cannot

identify the cause from the error message. An account manager should check an access log

for that.

Procedures of Confirming the Error Cause and Resetting by an Account

Manager

Step 1

Access ¡°Administration Function¡± for Account Managers.

Step 2

Input the host name from the server information and click ¡°Access¡±.

The server information is written on the ¡°User Account List¡±. For example, when the server

information is ¡°asp1.¡±, input ¡°asp1¡±. When the server information is

¡°fuji.¡±, input ¡°fuji¡±.

Step 3

Enter the account manager's username written in the ¡°User Account List¡± into username field.

Fill the password in to the password field and then, click ¡°Login¡±.

Step 4

Click ¡°Access history¡± from the administration function menu.

Step 5

On access history page, select [Type: Viewer only] and [Authentication result: All

connections], then click ¡°Update¡± to display the access history.

Step 6

Confirm the cause of the authentication error by a user name and start time.

If the error has been caused by the change of the authentication information, the

authentication error cause should be either of the following 2 reasons:

¡°Failed: Unable to establish the connection since the Terminal Authentication info registered

with the server does not match the info of the connecting device.¡±

¡°Failed: Connection from an MC Viewer that does not support Terminal Authentication is not

allowed by User Management.¡±

If you find one of the authentication errors above, go to Step 7 to reset the terminal

authentication info.

If you don¡¯t find any of these, the problem is not covered by this procedure. Please deal with

it by referencing ¡°How to Handle Authentication Errors when Connecting¡±

Step 7

Select ¡°User Management¡± in the menu bar on the top of the page.

Step 8

Select a user whose terminal administration info is to be changed. Check ¡°Reset¡± in terminal

authentication info field and then press ¡°Update¡±. When a message asking if it can reset is

shown, press ¡°OK¡±.

When the terminal authentication info is reset, ¡°User was successfully updated¡± will be shown,
