JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Manager

Directorate: Finance and Resources

Reporting to: Director of Finance and Resources

Hours: 37 per week (full time)

Salary: Ranging from £27,349 to £28,734 depending upon qualifications and experience

Closing Date: Thursday 18 January 2018

Job purpose:

To deliver a professional, Human Resource (HR) service to curriculum, business and business support departments within RNC. Leading a proactive, innovative and responsive HR team to provide pragmatic, creative and business focused HR solutions and recommendations across the Organisation. To build and develop relationships with managers and staff at all levels to provide support and advice on a range of HR matters and share best practice throughout the Organisation

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Provide an efficient, effective and customer focussed HR service which

supports all aspects of an employee’s relationship and engagement with the

Organisation including recruitment, terms and conditions of employment, training

and development activities, ensuring compliance with employment legislation

and Organisation policies

• Line manage the HR staff team, including participating in performance reviews.

• Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels, providing advice

and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support

understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice

• Build relationships with managers at all levels and develop a good

understanding of their work so as to be able to provide advice and guidance

• Support managers and provide generalist HR advice, to ensure the effective management of staff to achieve organisational goals

• Attend the Senior Management Team Meetings (SMT) from time to time to update the SMT on HR related issues.

• Ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action in accordance with the Organisations policy and to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management to ensure a smooth return to work

• Take responsibility for the implementation and updating of all HR policy, ensuring that all HR issues are dealt with within the timescales set out in the procedures of the Organisation and that HR policies conform with current legislation.

• Be the main point of contact for our external HR support

• Support the development of strong communication and feedback channels

with all staff and through a variety of mechanisms to support employee

engagement

• Ensure all data on manual and computerised records is accurate and up to

date and provide accurate and timely reports as and when required

• Deliver internal training events on a range of employment related topics.

• Undertake projects as agreed with Director Finance and Resources.

• Take responsibility for/Manage workforce development opportunities for the Organisation’s non-teaching team.
