The course is holding up very well considering the lack of rain we get this time of year. Our General Manager continues to find more ways to make us money and not disrupt the play of our members. At this meeting our General Manager and Standing Committee liaisons will be reporting on the various projects we are working on and completed (fencing, new maintenance trailer, computer update, By-Laws, summer projects and an update on our master plant, etc).We will also be taking an in depth look into our pace of play. They are: Heritage Palms, Bob Cat Trail (Men’s and Women’s Association) and Wild Cat Run.Our employees will be going through CPR and AED recertification training in the very near future. The cost for the training is $65.00 per person. Gary feels that we need additional AED machines for the golf course. Our current one is in the cart barn, but one needs to be out by each comfort station.Jason will have his summer list compiled for the May board meeting. We will have a week closure in May for work to be done. Date for closure will be emailed out to members.Starting May 1st San Carlos Golf Club will be closed on Mondays. The members of this committee are Denis Avagliano, Vicki Duso and Bob Kolida. Hugh also explained what the projected money needed between now and September 1, 2021. Income during this time frame is estimated and $500,000.00. However, our expense during this time (which includes summer, slow time) is $900,000.00. This means to get the club through the summer we need $400,000.00.Building, House, Safety and Security: Terry Weller mentioned the fencing is completed and we are waiting on our elevation certificate for the maintenance trailer. Hopefully within the next week or so that will arrive. Our contractor DeFranco is working to get the restroom in the trailer up and running. County requires we have an engineer diagram for the permit.Lee Country has sited San Carlos Golf Club with three permit violations. They are as follow: Striping done in the parking lot in 2016-2017. Company that was hired didn’t get the permit. The expansion of the gravel parking lot done in 2016-2017.The wooden fence which was currently put around the outdoor cooler. DeFranco is looking into the diagram presented for the purchase and placement of the cooler. He is also checking on the other violations as we have 30 days to respond to the county.Greens and Beautification Committee: Jeff Doyal talked about our bunkers and that we need to have USGA bunkers in the near future, which mean we need to core them out and put in good sand.Insurance Committee: Ron Fisher contacted our insurance company and added bathrooms on #6 and $17 to our policy for the cost of $750.00 for the year.By Laws Committee: Ron Tarantino, a member guest came to the meeting to explain the intent of By-Laws 3.5 and 4.9 as he was the individual who wrote these By-Laws.Several members of that previous board, Mike Allardyce, Ron Tarantino, Jackie Knight and Keith Taylor agree that the intent verbiage was to let a certificate owner change the name on the certificate and add an additional name without going to a Tier 2 pay schedule. Ron explained that yes our By-Laws need to be reviewed and verbiage cleaned up. Gary Keating, our manager has reached out to FSW and Ava Maria legal departments to see if they are interested in taking on our By-Laws as a college project for their students. We are waiting because of Covid to see when students will resume to the classroom. Jack Duso also mentioned that we should look at other golf clubs By-Laws to get an insight of the procedures.Membership Committee: No reportGolf Rules and Regulations: No ReportPolicy, Rules and Regulations Committee: Jack Duso and Ron Fisher need to update our Policy, Rules and Regulations book.Long Term Standing Committee: The Long Term Standing Committee is waiting on the Master Plan for SCGC from Gordy Lewis. They are as follow: Steps wider on green tee box. (This has been completed)More high top chairs for the patio.A Member was scheduled to tee off at 12:30 and got off at 12:37, which was not the problem. However, the member never saw the ranger during his time on the course, which was very slow play. He also would like to see the pro-shop open longer for customers. Gary explained that the ranger is there till 4:00 p.m., not sure where he was on this day. Also, the average play is 4 1/2 hours. As for pro-shop, customers may call 24 hours a day to make their tee times at San Carlos Golf Club.Certificate Holder’s Comments: No other comments.Next Board Meeting: May 20th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in San Carlos Snack Bar.Hugh Manning made a motion to adjourn at 7:55 pm, seconded by Jeff Doyal, Board Adjourned.Minutes Respectively Submitted ByBillie Allardyce ................
