You must provide an active email address that you regularly monitor for messages.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SUMMARY: Under supervision of and reports directly to the City of Cranston Workforce Development Director,Workforce Solutions of Providence/Cranston Office, administers tests, scores tests, and interprets results in reading, math, aptitude and career assessment to assist customers in targeting career training opportunities; maintains an active employment counseling and case management function for registered clients as assigned; provides the basic and intensive services required under Federal grant funding program guidelines and refers qualified customers for training services; provides support to customers using the resources of the Providence netWORKri "One Stop" American Job Center identifies appropriate customers who would qualify for and benefit from grants awarded to an administered by the Workforce Solutions of Providence/Cranston Office; responsible for the successful achievement of program performance standards for their customer caseload; performs daily entry and update of all assigned client activity into data management systems; and related work as required. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Administers and scores tests in reading, math, aptitude, and career assessment to customers of Providence netWORKri American Job Center; forwards testing data, results and interpretations to the City of Cranston Workforce Development Director.2. Represents the agency at training and informational program sessions.3. Provides employment and training counseling to customers facing barriers to employment.4. Assists customers in formulating goals and/or individual strategies and make informed decisions to achieve employment or enter training; works with customers to develop job leads, provide referrals to secure and retain jobs5. Provides information and/or referrals to training program or partner services.6. Assists and supports customers in utilizing the resources of netWORKri American Job Centers.7. Provides core and intensive services including resume preparation.8. Interviews applicants to determine program suitability and eligibility in compliance with local, state, and federal policy and procedures. Applicant intake, eligibility determination and documentation. Development of Employment Plan that matches job seeker with employers needs and training for in-demand occupations at state required wage levels per state performance standards9. Ensures that all client information is entered into the data management system including customer contact information, pre-program data, and post-program activity.10. Performs an active case management/employment counseling function and follows all processes and procedures.11. Performs other related duties as assigned.EXAMINATION: Examination shall consist of an oral and written test. The weight of the tests shall be 50% written and 50% oral. The minimum passing grade shall be 70% on the written test. Qualified employees will have appropriate seniority points added to a passing score. PREFERENCE: Honorably discharged active duty war veterans who have received a passing grade of 70% on the test shall have five (5) points added to their final grade and disabled active duty war veterans shall have ten (10) points added to their final grade.In order to receive credit for veteran's preference, an honorably discharged active duty war veteran must furnish DD214 when filing application. Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university demonstrating relevant coursework; or related equivalent gained from actual work experience with a minimum of two (2) years in the specialty area of workforce development.2. Ability to use all Microsoft Office programs at an efficient level3. Considerable knowledge of the processes and procedures, data systems, eligibility requirements, screening and interviewing techniques, case management techniques and customer service requirements used in carrying out the duties of the position.4. Working knowledge of data management systems (GEOSOL) or similar case management systems.5. Knowledge of the federal and local workforce development areas performance criteria used to determine program performance outcomes.6. Thorough knowledge of program rules, regulations, and guidelines used to perform intake, assessment, and case management; ability to implement ongoing case management/employment counseling processes and procedures.7. Thorough knowledge of in-house policies, procedures, and processes related to counseling, case management, intake and assessment.8. Knowledge of full range of career, vocational, and educational tests and the practices and techniques of administering, scoring, and interpreting such tests.9. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously in English/Spanish both orally and in writing.10. Ability to understand and carry out complex written and oral instructions.11.
