Helpful guide to help you remember the web design/ computer skills that we learned one to one and in groups. Please do not copy any of this but use it to help you remember how we did the skills.Sign up and understand web design foreground and background.Click publish for the foreground and click large edit button for the back ground.A lot of the build functions such as the button links only work in the published foreground. Change background and themes:After sign up you can select the type of theme you want wether is business formal or a promotion of an event etc. You can also choose to do a website or a blog.Add titles and text:Need to find the build functions list and search for title build function and then click and drag that build tool into the correct page and space. Same with text boxes.Edit, click and drag, reshape, Insert new webpages and sub pages:Click pages, then insert new page. For subpages click and drag the page to the right one cm under the webpage you want it. Fonts, themes, inserting and deleting text:I can change the style and size of text by...I can delete things by clicking on the edge of a box and clicking the delete buttonI can insert a text box and start writing by using the text box in the build section. This is more difficult that using word because I found that I can't just type what I want where I want.Background edit: click background and change the colour options of my photos can't be seen properly or I can change the theme templates.Add links and Add and edit buttons with links;Can link to other external website or you can link within my own website using the links build feature or the button feature. E.g find the button build feature, then click and drag into a space where I think it works, then click on it and a number of options appear, click link to external website, then open an external or other website link google.ie, click ctrl and C on the link at the top of the Internet browser link like google chrome, then go back into weebly and press ctrl V on my keyboard into the section that says external website links.Add video and link to YouTube;Have weebly and YouTube open. Click and drag the YouTube build feature into weebly and pick a place on the website where it stand outs. Find a YouTube video on YouTube, click the link option underneath the video itself and again copy and paste back into the weebly YouTube build feature. Must click outside of the build YouTube feature before the new video will link and the old one will go away.Add slide show from weebly or insert from PowerPoint Can create my own PowerPoint presentation and upload it using insert files build feature or I can actually use the slide show in the build feature and use weebly software to build slide shows. I can also put photos on a slide show to flick between my photos to showcase what I am promoting. Insert office files : as aboveAdd a ppt file on their topic: as above Add word: as above Add publisher : as aboveAdd and edit a survey and link to your topic:I had to find the survey build function in the build list then I had to plan where to put it. I had to edit the questions and the multiple choice answers so that it matched my needs for a survey. I did this by clicking on the headings and answers after clicking what feature to change in options.Add and edit contact form: similar to above plus I had to test out could people contact me and if my email and contact details really worked. Mr MC Garry said to not put up personal phone numbers or personal details on our websites too.Using page dividers :To section off my webpage. First I had to find the divider build function then plan the layout of my pages and decide where I needs to section off the page.Add map for location: again no personal address but I could use a made up address for my business, career option or passion. I found the google maps build function, then click and designed into position , then I had to click the address box and change the address and then change the address to the new one. It wouldn't work until I click outside of the box.Add music file: I didn't get enough time yetAdd sub pages: explained above Block quote: had to google a famous quote first, then find the build feature for block quotes in websites, then copy and paste the quote in between the inverted commas for it to work.RSS feeds: I had to google RSS feed for a common news website by clicking RSS feeds for the irish examiner or RT?. I had to copy and paste into the RSS feed feature and click options and select the right one.some didn't work but it had to have RSS in the link clearly before it worked and then I was very happy to see real time news pop up when I inserted the RSS feed and clicked outside of the build RSS feature box. RSVP event manager: I had to find this feature first, then click and drag into position, then I need to edit the template to invite people to a themed party for cars, anime, teen wolf, vet nurse, homelessness get togethers etc etc. This works a bit like Facebook event party planner only better. ................
