Along with a campfire, real or fake, you could dress up your scene with a tent, camp chairs, or anything to make the scouts feel like they are at a campfire.Drive-thru Award Ceremony - At this ceremony the Unit Leader, Awards Chair, and any one else would be handing out Adventures and Awards that were earned.Drive-thru Popcorn Prizes Distribution - At this event the unit would be handing out Popcorn Prizes that the scouts have earned from the Fall Popcorn Fundraiser.Blanket Fort Camp-in - For this event it would be like a camp out, but with blanket forts and at home! Some things that you can do during the camp-in is take a look at blanket forts that the scouts are in, have a campfire program with songs, skits, and jokes. Blue and Gold Banquet - A virtual Blue and Gold Banquet doesn't have to be that different from an in-person Blue and Gold Banquet. At a virtual Blue and Gold Banquet you can tell about what Blue and Gold Banquet is, talk about Scouting's Birthday, Recognize Scouts that may have ranked up or are crossing over to a ScoutsBSA unit. The possibilities are endless.Pinewood Derby - If your unit is full virtual - no contact, just without a meeting place or somewhere inbetween you can still have a successful pinewood derby. Here are a few options:Have the person running the pinewood derby set-up the track at their house or a location that works for all. Have all of the scouts drop the pinewood derby cars and run the race via video conference or live stream. With this option the unit will be able to run a complete race start to finish.Have the person running the pinewood derby set-up the track at their house or a location that works for all. Instead of dropping off the pinewood derby cars, have a small group of scouts, no larger than a den, race their pinewood derby cars against each other. With this scenario the scouts are still able to see others from the unit, but still socially distant within small groups. If your unit is without a regular meeting place find a one-time meeting place to hold a pinewood derby.Raingutter Regatta - If your unit is full virtual - no contact because of COVID-19 having a raingutter regatta may need to be postponed until next year, because of all the raingutter regatta propulsion will cause spittle and this is one kind of sharing that is not welcomed in scouting. Otherwise find a one-time place to hold this derby and have fun!Bridging Ceremony - At a virtual bridging ceremony you can recognize each rank and welcome the scouts to the next rank. ................
