Marketing Campaign Manager

Job Details:

Reports to: Marketing Manager

Accountable to: Head of Marketing

Hours: 35 hours per week, exclusive of meal breaks

Band: MSP3 (salary £30,000 – £34,000)

Location: Michael Faraday House, Stevenage

Job Summary

Working closely with the wider marketing team and reporting to the Marketing Manager, the post holder will be responsible for planning and implementing marketing campaigns for designated products and services, to agreed timescales and budgets, working closely with business stakeholders and marketing colleagues to support revenue generation / customer engagement and contribute to the IET’s strategic KPIs. The holder of this role may also act as a deputy to the marketing manager as required, though will not have direct line management responsibilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities (Not necessarily in priority order)

• Responsible for the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, utilising all relevant marketing channels (on and off line), to the designated audience and product portfolio.

• Working closely with the Marketing Executive to provide marketing guidance, oversee tactical marketing implementation and help them to manage their workload.

• Implement plans on time, on budget, to meet targets and with full reporting.

• Analyse, review and test elements of marketing campaigns to continue to improve effectiveness of campaigns and campaign results.

• Initiate, write and produce promotional material including brochures, videos, and other required materials ensuring all materials are consistent with the IET brand.

• Ensure that all campaign or project material is of a consistently high quality in copy, tone, design and adheres to IET brand guidelines, policies and marketing campaign processes.

• Day to day liaison with and management of external suppliers such as designers, printers, PR agencies, exhibition stand organisers.

• The planning and organisation of exhibitions and events, including stand design, production of materials, shipping and stand manning.

• Manage budget for portfolio.

• Liaise with other departments within the IET as appropriate and external organisations to support promotion of IET products and services, seeking cross-marketing opportunities where applicable.

• Ensure all copyright issues are checked and adhered to and that the organisation is not subjected to any legal misrepresentation.

• To undertake any other duties and projects as requested by the line manager.

• To comply with data protection legislation and act responsibly on matters of data disclosure both internally and to third parties.

• To be familiar with the Health and Safety and Fire policies for the company and to attend mandatory updates where required.

Essential

• Experience in producing and implementing marketing campaign plans

• Thorough knowledge of driving direct marketing campaigns using appropriate marketing channels

• Strong ability to think commercially and innovatively

• Highly organised, self-motivated and able to effectively manage a busy and varied portfolio

• Excellent copywriting skills with good attention to detail and proof reading skills

• Highly professional with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

• Ability to build successful relationships and manage stakeholders, internally and externally and at all levels of the organisation

• Thorough understanding of customer segmentation and target marketing principles and practices

• Educated to degree level or equivalent

• Highly IT literate

• Demonstrate the IET values of integrity, excellence and teamwork

• Willingness to undertake occasional travel

Desirable

• Experience of marketing professional registration and development to an engineering audience
