THE FINANCIAL ANALYSIS DIVISION OF THE ILLINOIS COMMERCE COMMISSION IS SEEKING APPLICANTS TO WORK IN ITS ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT AS AN ECONOMIC ANALYST II(2 POSITIONS). THIS POSITION MAY BE LOCATED IN EITHER SANGAMON COUNTY (527 EAST CAPITOL AVENUE, SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS), OR COOK COUNTY (160 NORTH LASALLE, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS), TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEEDS OF THE SELECTED CANDIDATE.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
These positions analyze information concerning public utilities (gas, electric, telecommunications, water, and sewer) operating in Illinois. The analysis may include the review of information submitted by the utility, development of requests for additional information from the utility, performance of a field review, performance of research of accounting issues, development of cross-examination questions for witnesses, preparation of written testimony setting forth positions on accounting issues or proposed adjustments, presenting the prepared testimony in hearings, and assisting in the preparation of briefs.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Candidates must be Certified Public Accountants who are currently licensed or registered. Candidates must have superior oral and written English communication skills; and extensive knowledge in the use of the personal computer and Microsoft Windows programs are also required.
The expected salary range is $4,377 to $6,581 per month, depending on qualifications. Work hours are anticipated to be 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. These positions are represented by RC-63 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Council 31, AFL-CIO.
