This means that on February 1st you will receive a US$5,000 Matching Gifts balance.How long will it take for the charity to receive the Grant?Due to high demand, charities can expect to receive payment within 30-60 days after the donation request has been made by the employee. Delays are often due to difficulties verifying charitable status or obtaining necessary wire or bank details.Does the Foundation sponsor events, like golf tournaments or charitable fundraisers?The Foundation does not sponsor events but we encourage employees to utilize the Matching Grants Program to raise money for eligible charitable organizations.Matching FAQWhat are the matching donation limits?Each donation request must be at least US$25, and each employee has a maximum of US$5,000 in matching funds for each fiscal year.Is there a deadline? Will my Matching Gifts balance expire?Yes, each request must be made within 60 days of the original donation. Requests that have not been verified by the nonprofit or through an uploaded receipt automatically expire after 60 days.Can I submit a request for funds I received from family or friends if they donated to my fundraising campaign (AIDS Lifecycle, Avon Walk, etc.)?No, monies raised by an employee through pledges are not eligible for funds from the Matching Gifts Program. Only requests for donations made from an employee’s personal assets and given directly to the eligible charity will be considered.My team wants to hold a fundraiser for an approved charity, can I collect all the donations and request a match?No, each employee must individually request a matching donation, and pooled donation requests will not be approved.Are all donations eligible?Tax-deductible cash donations to approved charities are eligible. The following types of gifts are ineligible:In-kind donations (donations of services or material goods such as books, food, toys, etc.)Donations made for raffle tickets or at charity auctionsPayments for lodging and travel expensesGifts intended to fulfill a personal pledgeContributions from collections (i.e. community fundraising)Donations for which any goods or services were received in return (i.e. payments for gala tickets, etc.) may not be fully tax-deductible.
