DEBATE STATE TOURNAMENT 1
WELCOME
to the CELEBRATION of CHAMPIONS
MISSION STATEMENT
On behalf of the Minnesota State High School League's Board of Directors, I extend an enthusiastic welcome and congratulations to the participants, the member schools and their communities in qualifying for a place in one of the League's treasured state tournament events.
While a global pandemic changed many things this past school year, it couldn't dampen the spirits of our participants nor their commitment to work together and their drive to excel through education-based activities in the more than 500 member schools of the Minnesota State High School League. Whether it is in athletics or the fine arts, the journey to a League state tournament is a special one filled with lifelong lessons and memories for all participants.
The values of education-based activities carry far more weight than the end result of a state tournament event. From forging friendships to growing as leaders, to serving communities, the character traits that are cultivated through participation help set the course for success in future endeavors, and often, a commitment to giving back in honor of a positive high school experience.
There is nothing that strengthens the connection between a member school and its community more than the shared experience in a League state tournament. The positive support you have received in your journey through education-based activities demonstrates the strength and commitment of educators, coaches and administrators in making this an incredible experience for all.
The League salutes you on your success and we celebrate this accomplishment with you.
Thomas Jerome, President MSHSL Board of Directors
The Minnesota State High School League is a non-profit, voluntary association of public and private schools with a history of service to Minnesota youth since 1916.
