beautiful SASKATOON

The University of Saskatchewan's historic main campus is recognized as one of the most beautiful in the country, and our city is known as a hidden gem by those who visit and come to call it home.

Our campus is found at the heart of the vibrant city of Saskatoon, which has a growing population of more than 270,000 people.

Saskatoon is a welcoming city for newcomers and offers many opportunities to experience Canadian culture. We also celebrate cultures from around the world.

As the largest city in the province of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon offers the amenities of a large urban centre, along with the friendliness and accessibility of a smaller city.

Here, you can have a true Canadian experience in a city that is safe, affordable and studentfriendly.

SASKATCHEWAN advantages

The benefits of living and studying in Canada are well-known, but there are additional advantages to choosing the province of Saskatchewan as your study destination.

HEALTH CARE Free Saskatchewan government health insurance is available for full-time students with a valid study permit.

As a full-time undergraduate or graduate student, you also have access to extended health and dental benefits provided through your student association.

SASKATCHEWAN IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM Through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, the province invites residency applications from non-Canadians who want to make Saskatchewan their home. Successful applicants will be nominated to the federal government, so they can gain permanent residency in Canada. For more information, visit saskatchewan.ca/immigration.

COST OF LIVING Housing costs in Saskatchewan's cities and communities, including Saskatoon, are lower than in most major cities in Canada. The costs of transportation are also low. If you choose to live off-campus, you can take advantage of the reasonably priced unlimited transit pass included in your student fees.

QUALITY OF LIFE Achieving balance between one's work, family and social life is a part of Saskatchewan culture. There is always something for residents to do here, from visiting the worldclass Remai Modern art gallery to dining at our award-winning restaurants. Festivals like WinterShines, Jazz Fest and the Fringe Theatre Festival are special opportunities to experience the best of our province's and city's culture.

GRADUATE RETENTION PROGRAM

The Graduate Retention Program provides Saskatchewan income tax credits of up to $20,000 over seven years for tuition fees paid by graduates of approved post-secondary programs who live in Saskatchewan. To be eligible, you must live and file an income tax return in Saskatchewan.
