PRACTICE TEST WEBSITE: &

PSAT DATE: Thursday Oct. 15th, 2015 (7:50 AM) @ SLHS: This is a Pre-SAT test specifically for juniors; however, if there is space available, sophomores can take the test as well. The test is given during the school day. The cost is $16 which is a bargain for a practice test with scholarship implications. The College Board makes fee waivers available to schools for students in 11th grade from low-income families who can't afford the test fee. See your counselor for more information about fee waivers.

ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) TEST DATE: Oct. 21st, a sign up list will be available in the Career Center. The ASVAB is a free career exploration test that will assess your reading and math skills as well as your aptitude. This is a great test to take if you are not sure what you want to do after high school. It is also a great opportunity to prepare you for other standardized tests.

COMPASS TEST: This test is the entrance exam for technical and community colleges. It is not given here at the high school. You can take the test in any of the local community colleges test centers. Please stop by the Career Center for more information.

ACCUPLACER TEST: This test is the entrance exam for some community colleges (TCC & SPSCC). Check out the community college websites for test times, locations, and costs.

The 2015–2016 fee for the SAT Test - $54.50. This includes score reports for up to four college choices for which you list a valid code when you register. The Subject test is $26.00 per registration, and $18 for all other Subject Tests (per test). Standard SAT Test type, center or date change Fee $28.00 each. $46 if you are admitted to the test center on test day.

The 2015–2016 fee for the ACT Plus Writing - $56.50. This includes score reports for up to four college choices for which you list a valid code when you register. The fee for the ACT (No Writing) is $39.50 ($17.00 less). I suggest taking the plus writing unless you are sure that your college doesn’t require it. The late fee is $25, date change is $23 and standby fee is $48 in addition to the Basic fee, if you missed registration for some reason
