school, church or youth program and/or you have a strong record of

success in the classroom.

Shirley Jane Brooke Scholarship

Waltmar Foundation

Apply for this scholarship if your are graduating from

any Orange County High School in spring 2022

You must have earned at least a 2.50 grade point average in

high school and be graduating in spring 2022.

As a recipient of the ASOCC Future Leaders Scholarship you are expected

to become involved in one of the following:

1. Serve as a student government officer. Serve in one of the

three branches of student government including Student Senate,

Executive Board, Fiscal Affairs Council, Inter Club Council, and the

College Life Committee.

2. Start a club or serve as a club officer. Serve as a club officer

in one of our 50+ registered clubs or start your own. There are

many clubs to meet a variety of social, cultural, political, career,

recreational, and religious interests.

3. Serve as a student representative on a campus-wide

committee. Work alongside college administrators, faculty and

staff and serve as the student voice on a variety of campus-wide

committees.

If you are awarded this scholarship you will receive at least $500 to

continue your education at OCC.

You must enroll in at least 12 units at Orange Coast College in the fall semester 2018. In addition, you are expected to

follow through with one of the numbered items above.

We will disburse your award once you provide the Scholarship Office with a copy of your semester enrollment receipt.

Scholarship checks are mailed to your home address

No, but OCC offers a General Scholarship for continuing and transferring students each year.

OCC High School Scholarships

Use the following checklist to make sure that your application is complete.

Complete the application form neatly. You may type it or download to complete it.

Mark the scholarship(s) you wish to be considered for.

Request transcripts from your high school and attach them to the application.

Ask two people to write recommendations and attach them to the application. These letters can be from

teachers, counselors, coaches, employers, youth group leaders, or anyone else who can express why you

should receive a scholarship. Remember that you must submit these letters with your application by the

deadline, so plan ahead. Recommendations from relatives and friends are not acceptable.

Make a copy of your completed scholarship application to keep in your files.

Submit your completed application (application form, 2 letters of recommendation, and an official transcript

from your high school), no later than Friday, June 29, 2022 by 5:00p.m. Applications should be received in

the OCC Scholarship office by this date and time. Late applications will not be considered.
