Assigned job tasks/duties are not limited to the essential functions).Attends Board meetings and operates tape, takes vote and does general secretarial duties as requested by the Board of TrusteesTranscribes board meeting tapes and prepares for approval by Board at next regular meetingPrepares and posts agendas as required by Board of Trustees and Nevada Open Meeting LawPerforms secretarial duties as directed by the Board of TrusteesMakes reservations and schedules transportation for meetings to be attended by the School Board of TrusteesPerforms other duties as may be assignedQUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT: Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of Possess strong secretarial skill, including, but not limited to typingAbility to Ability to pass a State of Nevada criminal background checkAbility to plan, organize and control assigned functionsAbility to research, gather and compile information correctlyAbility to manage and meet deadlinesRead, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresUse high level interpersonal skills in order to maintain effective working relationships.Makes all job-related decisions based on the needs of the students and district based as identified in policy and by supervisor.Experience and Training:One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related secretarial/business experience and/or training;Physical and Mental Requirements:The physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods. Strength and stamina to bend, stoop, sit, and stand for long periods of time. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of files, stacks of paper or reports, references, and other materials. Some reaching for items above and below desk level. Some reaching, bending, squatting, and stooping to access files and records is necessary. The manual dexterity and cognitive ability to operate a personal computer using word processing and databases. The ability to communicate via telephone. Light lifting (up to 25 pounds) is occasionally required. Position functions indoors in an office type environment where most work is performed at a desk. Position may occasionally be required to travel by car to pick up or deliver material. Environment is generally clean with limited exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, noise, or odors.
