Creating Animations and Games with Bloxel (Grades 4, 5, 6, & 7)

Students will explore creating their own video game level with Bloxels EDU. Create a story with a main

character, design backgrounds, and add items and other characters to your level. Students will learn

about how basic animation works, and apply that to their characters and in game models. As time

allows, students will also get to create animations using BBC Microbits and the Piskel app. Hope to see

Lego Robotics Ev 3 Class

(Grades 4, 5, 6, & 7)

Lego Robotics kits allow students to create the smartest, strongest and most advanced Lego robot ever!

LEGO Ev 3 MINDSTORM includes an all-new Ev 3 Intelligent Brick with 32-bit microprocessor, a sound

sensor, an ultrasonic visual sensor, an improved touch sensor, an improved light sensor and easy-to-use

Windows and Macintosh programming software. Maximum of 16 participants. Students will be required

to work with a partner. The course is designed for two students per kit

The Exploration of Photoshops

(Grades 6, 7, 8, & 9)

Whether you're an experienced "Photoshoper" or beginner ? be prepared to learn something new in

this interactive Adobe Photoshop course. Students will experiment with creating movie posters, gifs,

blending faces, as well as editing and enhancing personal photos and so much more! Students will learn

techniques to create dramatic effects to photos in order to create original pieces of art.

Game Design

(Grades 4, 5, 6, & 7)

Calling all game designers! Let's get ready to work with "The Foos" in Codespark to create your own

game(s). You are the lead developer in what game world and mission you create. We will explore

different games and learn new ways to make our games more challenging and enjoyable for others to

play. We will be going through the design process of: Imagine, Create, collecting Feedback & making

Improvements. Are you ready? Let's start to create unique games together!

Go beyond basic Minecraft and learn to build custom maps, write command blocks, add redstone

structures, and create resource packs to enhance the Minecraft playing experience.

Join this camp to explore the creative and building aspects of the world of Minecraft. Use your creativity

and imagination to create maps complete with amazing cities and caverns for your friends to explore.

Write a story for your own Minecraft level, and place enemies and unbreakable walls where you please.

Create your own unique characters for your levels, and let your friends win or lose at your discretion!

Students learn game design concepts such as game world design, storyboarding, gameplay, and

modeling.

Explore graphic design, animation, and other forms of digital art. This course focuses on creative

expression using Photoshop, PiskelApp, iPad drawing applications, and more. Learning will be a

combination of structured lessons and freedom of choice, culminating with a student-designed final

project.

other project and watch it come to life! Participants will use the new Lego WeDo 2.0 kits to learn about

programming, engineering and technology and create a variety of projects from the ground up, making

the robots from Lego pieces, figuring out how to incorporate a motor in their design, and then coding the

assembly to run (lots of assembly required). In addition, learn how to create apps on a "virtual tablet" by

coding in coffeescript using bitsbox

Vex Robotics

(Grades 6, 7, 8, & 9)

Are you interested in robotics, coding, and working with others to build awesomely epic robots? If so,

come join us for a week of robotics fun at LPS Summer Technology Program! Working in teams you will

obtain hands-on experience building, programming and controlling VEX robots capable of performing

various tasks. Some of the projects covered are: lifting mechanisms, remote control operation, and the

basics of programming. The camp will conclude with a robot competition between the various teams.
