Develop and participate in operational and installation procedures relating to installations of technical databases, integration of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Backup/Recovery requirements. Creates structured diagrams for the specifications of backup and disaster recovery area networks. Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for the enterprise back-up and disaster recovery solutions. The total percentage of all duties performed must equal 100 percent.Duty 1General Summary of Duty 1% of Time80The senior level position will develop specifications for the integration of technical database designs, enterprise backup and recovery infrastructure services.Individual tasks related to the duty.Work directly with the client to provide a standards based end to end designed solution and capture details to satisfy business requirements. Coordinate with telecommunications, server teams, storage, directory services, standards and policies, and security to determine feasibility and validate ensuring provided solution is in line with defined standards. Document the detailed provided solution. Recommend alternative solutions to include diagrams, scope, benefits and risk analysis.Coordinate and validate backup and recovery hardware/software acceptance plans for enterprise systems to include test process and validation criteria ensuring incorporation of testing requirements from application requirements.Review standard hardware/software configuration specifications that detail what new backup and recovery hardware and software configurations or enhancements are to occur to existing systems in the environment and coordinates and validates their implementation.Coordinate and validate the support and maintenance activities for automated data processing systems and backup and recovery system support applications within the backup and recovery environment validating against General Operating Procedures.Plan, coordinate, and validate the implementation and maintenance of backup and recovery hardware and backup and recovery software systems.Develop and implement database backup recovery solutions with user departments and data centers. Serve as liaison with users concerning requests for backup and recovery technical database requests.Review requests for enterprise backup and recovery solutions for accuracy.Plan, coordinate, and validate the configuration, implementation, testing, and maintenance of third party backup and recovery support software on backup and recovery systems including the integrating of vendors support applications into the enterprise backup and recovery environment using standard backup and recovery support toolsets, and security protocols.Develop, implement, and monitor information technology quality assurance standards.Analyze and resolve escalated problems to identify backup and recovery systems and operational efficiencies and failure patterns. Plans, coordinates, and validates the implementation of backup and recovery system and operational efficiencies bases on standard solution offerings.Evaluate new standard technology designs and plans for the coordination to integrate into the current environment for hardware consolidation of backup and recovery centralization, to reduce operating costs and the backup and recovery environment complexity.Research new technologies, policies, standards, and procedures as subject matter expert and coordinate associated training.Duty 2General Summary of Duty 2% of Time15Participate in enterprise backup and disaster recovery projects and project teams.Individual tasks related to the duty.Create backup and recovery hardware/software proposals based on defined standard technology designs and on identified business requirements.Plan, coordinate and validate in-scope activities for regular Disaster Recovery testing for the assigned area of the organization.
