• Tests & Quizzes 20%

• Final Exam 20 %

▪ Weighting: 50% Written Response & 50% Multiple Choice Reading Comprehension

Study Habits: It is important to develop the discipline to adhere to deadlines as this skill is critical for success in school and also in life and work after high school. Keep materials organized and plan out your day and week so you have time to work on schoolwork, exercise, relax and sleep. Avoid procrastination. It is normal to procrastinate a little but too much can add to stress and result in poor quality work and low grades. Manage your time and set realistic goals for each study session.

Classroom Expectations:

- Be prompt – polite – prepared – productive - and participate!

- I devices have limited purposes during class time (e.g. research & assignments and not texting/games etc.)

- Use your PIT time to access additional help and work productively on assignments.

- If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed. You can check the class website for assignments and homework and for resources you may need. Bookmark the website and check in daily. If you do not have home access to the Internet, discuss this with me. londonbridgehome.

- Assignments have a recommended due date and a deadline date. Any assignment not handed in on the recommended due date will receive a mark of zero. After the assignment deadline passes, assignments will not be accepted.

- You may be required to attend HW Room to complete missing assignments or tests.

- Missed tests will be written at a time determined by teacher and student (usually on the day when student returns to school).

- Additional support: Students are encouraged to request additional help if needed. I am usually in the classroom at lunch and before and after school.

Academic Honesty: It is expected that students do and submit for evaluation only work that is genuinely the product of their own efforts.

Plagiarism: Plagiarized work is not OK. Don’t do it. Plagiarism is the act of representing as your own work, the work of another, without acknowledging the author or the source. Plagiarism is a serious offense. It is unethical, violates the rule of student conduct, and may be a violation of copyright law. Whenever you use another’s information/ideas, you must give proper reference and cite your sources. You can guard against the possibility of accidental plariarism by keeping careful notes that distinguish between your own ideas/thoughts and that material you gather from others. You may use the words and thoughts of others in your paper but the borrowed material must not seem your own creation.
