The Implications of the Culture(Hip Hop, Entertainment, Media)God has called me to deal with the theological, social, and spiritual implications of the hip hop culture, as well as the music and entertainment industry. This music that has transcended into a culture has far reaching implications on every scope of life as we know it. It has crept into the body of Christ like a Trojan horse and is as deeply rooted as some of the religious practices we employ. The enemy is very crafty and subtle in how the he approaches the church. He never comes out directly and attacks. He uses the “currents” of our culture to keep us off balance to his agenda. As a society we are attracted to what’s current, thusly getting carried away by the current! The enemy has been able to infuse himself even in the church in ways that are so deceptive until it is defended by those who use his tools in their arsenal. The most damaging thing about the enemies’ final hour push is his target audience. He has targeted our children, youth, and young adults with the culture that offers freedom from rules, religion, and persecution. This culture offers acceptance worldwide, no matter who you are or what you’ve done. He understands the power that music and media has over the human psyche and he uses that to his advantage as he laces beats and lyrics with demonic undertones and satanic occultic meanings. He uses massive media efforts to distract and detain us for demonic entry into our homes and lives. distractions don’t seem distracting until they’ve already distracted you. Now, with the inception of social media and technology (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Kik, SnapChat, Google, WorldStar HipHop, YouTube, Secret Slang, and much much more), the push is far greater than we realize and the gravity of the effect is far more egregious than we recognize. Our youth and adults alike are so fascinated by the rhythm and rhyme, and smooth sounding voices that sing until they subconsciously follow the enemy on a pathway to destruction. He is like the pied piper and he plays a rhythm that is spellbinding and captivating. We are compelled to dance, sings, receive, and serenade the enemy without any thought whatsoever. The undertones and real meaning of the culture has been hidden for some time now. But God has called me out to speak out and address the implications of the culture. This portion of my ministry deals with the deceptive nature of the culture and the damming lyrics that our children are quoting and living by; and the mind-numbing hours spent on social media. There has been a massive push to dumb down society enough until they will receive anything presented to them. This will make the mark of the beast an accepted endeavor because it will seem necessary. This music and culture has taken the place of God in our children’s lives. They no longer fear God. They no longer obey God. They no longer respect His house or His people. They can’t feel His presence because they fall asleep with their iPods banging gangster beats or sultry lyrics talking about fornication, adultery, and drug and alcohol abuse. In a vast majority of Christian homes are hip hop CDs, DVDs, clothes, and other identifiers of the culture. The enemy has been able to dupe the body of Christ into supporting and endorsing a culture that is sending our children to hell. We support by financing, advertising with the clothes on our back, music in our homes, and signs and symbols we display every day. I feel like it's time for the church to awaken to the call of God. We are His chosen generation; we are a royal priesthood that have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light. We’ve been called that we may show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness. So this PowerPoint presentation scans and takes a panoramic look into the dark, deceptive ideals and ideologies of this demonic push. this lesson highlights many subjects ranging from the birth of Satanism, to the resurgence of Sodom and Gomorrah in this century. This lesson also highlights the cultural ills of our society, brought on by a crafty agenda to use music, vulnerable minds, organized chaos, pipeline to prison, miseducation in our public schools, herding of the poor into the ghettos, the “war on drugs”, and much more. There are different levels of the lesson and different areas covered in each lesson. There is so much information available that the lessons had to be divided into sub lessons. I pray for guidance before I present the lesson to an awaiting congregation or small youth group. My only agenda is to save a soul or redeem someone back into the loving arms of God, through Jesus Christ. I am motivated by having been a part of the culture most of my youth, young adult, and adult life. I realize the power and push it has on the mind and spirit. God had to deliver me from it just to send me back to help other young people. Note: these lessons are just as vital to adults, who sometimes struggle with the same issues as the young people. This move wasn’t motivated by hip hop, it started with the oldies, as far back as the Beatles. Even if the adults are no longer engaged in the culture, they can gather valid, vital information from these lessons, to use as ammunition when ministering to their children or loved ones. It is not good enough to say don’t listen to that, don’t go to that party, don’t talk like that, don’t be that way. Our young people need explanation as to why we feel that way. This lesson provides a plethora of information, guided by the Word of God as to the dangers involved in that way of life. God is Great and He WILL get the glory! GodBlessDwayne M. Shy Sr.,Dwayne M.
