This letter is basically written for the sole purpose of getting donors form a specific charity

organization to donate some money for a cause. Obviously a non-profitable fundraiser will be

How do I write this letter?

When writing a soliciting letter for fundraising, you need to be fully open and be able to explain

the need of the fundraising event you are going to run. Since you are writing to an organization,

you need to convince them to donate towards your noble cause. You need to be able to get their

attention and in order to do so, keep the following tips at the back of your head each time you

write this letter.

Formal ¨C be formal and make sure to use a serious tone while writing. You are writing to an

organization asking for their donations, so you need to be serious.

Brief and straight forward ¨C do not beat around the bush as you ask for money, go straight

to your main issue, making ht story long is unnecessary and might make your letter boring.

Organization ¨C since you would be writing to an organization or charity group, you need to

include which organization you are writing and also identify yourself.

Personal and emotional - to be able to capture the recipients heart and make persuade

them towards a generous donation, you need to get to a one on one personal level with

them, make them feel that need you have to raise funds.
