The Jews had been badly beaten. But in 132 CE a man called Bar Cocheba, (Son of the Star), was proclaimed by Rabbi Akiba, the head Rabbi of the time, to be the Messiah. Hence, more revolt, more violence, and the Jews are expelled from Jerusalem, which became a Roman colony, and a temple to Jupiter was erected on the site of the old Jewish Temple. ................
