But, it can also be filled with ingredients that can affect us negatively. Some music may even have an influence on our health and the health of our relationships. This instrument will help you evaluate the "nutritional value" of the music you listen to. Put on your headphones, turn up the volume, and become a song lyric nutritionist. Just follow these steps:STEP ONE: Find a song with a relationship themeSongs with a relationship theme describe an emotional or physical connection between one or more people and it should support, celebrate, or glorify the unhealthy or healthy characteristics of the relationship.STEP TWO: Print the lyricsSearch for the lyrics. Copy and paste lyrics into a WORD document and print out the lyrics. STEP THREE: Score the song lyricsCarefully examine the song's title and all the lyrics in the chorus and the verses of the song. Using the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships, underline or highlight and number/letter which characteristic the lyric illustrates. Now look at the NUTRITIONAL IMPACT LABEL. Check all "Present" for each relationship ingredient that you find in the song. Finally, for each ingredient present, assign a score from 1 to 5 in the "INENSITY LEVEL" box based on how much of that relationship ingredient is in the song. A score of 1 would indicate there is a very low level of that ingredient while a score of 5 would indicate there are many examples of that ingredient in the song. STEP FOUR: Total your numbers and describe the nutritional value of your songAdd up the scores from the intensity column for both the healthy and unhealthy sections. These totals indicate the unhealthy and healthy relationship "nutritional" value. Using this score, write a nutritional impact statement including your conclusion as to if this song would be a healthy part of your "lyrical diet" and why.Nutritional ImpactArtist: ________________________________________________________________Song Title: ____________________________________________________________Serving Size: Min: Sec:Amount Per Serving:Present (X)Intensity Level (1-5)Unhealthy Relationship Ingredients:DisrespectAbuseRelationship = SexJealousyManipulationTry to change youObsessionNo independenceDramaTotal Unhealthy Healthy Relationship Ingredients:RespectSafetySupportIndividualityEqualityAcceptanceTrustCommunicationFunTotal Healthy Nutritional Impact Statement: _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ................
