East Union Christian Church…Coming together, physically, to worship once again – Phase 1Target Date – Sunday May 31, 2020 – 8:30 and 10:30 am servicesGreetings EUCC!??We miss you and so look forward to being able to begin to worship together again soon.? As a Servant Leadership Team, we understand it will be necessary for everyone’s safety and well-being that our coming together will have to be done in phases.? We will not be able to just open the doors and pick up where we left off.? So, we have developed plans for how things will look on Sunday morning, May 31. The plans involve both what EUCC will be doing and what will be asked of you.??As a church…We will have two services – 8:30 and 10:30 am – This is so we can accommodate as many people as possible while practicing proper social distancing.? One service will be streamed online as we are doing now. There will be no Sunday School, Nursery or Junior Church in Phase 1Social Distancing will be in place.? We will have seating in the Sanctuary – every other pew (we will alternate pews in the second service so the same pews will not be used in each service.)? Seating will be available in the Fellowship Hall with chairs set up for social distancing.? The service will be broadcast on the large screen TV in the fellowship Hall.Surfaces will be cleaned between servicesOrder of ServicesWelcomeCall to WorshipOpening PrayerTime of Praise – 2-3 songs – 1-2 versesPrayerMessageInvitation – 1 song – 1 verse or just a chorusCommunion/OfferingCommunion WordsCommunion StationsThere will be multiple communion stations in the front of the Sanctuary and one in the Fellowship Hall.? An Elder or Deacon will wear a mask and gloves and distribute communion (an individual serving – stacked cups as we use now) to each person as they are released by rows by an usher to come forward.? There will be waste baskets for empty communion cups to be placed at each communion station.? Once a person has taken communion, they are asked to make their way out of the building and to their cars maintaining proper social distancing.?OfferingThere will be offering plates in front next to each communion station and the same in the Fellowship Hall.Soft music can be played during communion, offering and departure – live or electronic – still needs to be discussed.Baptisms - If someone comes forward during the invitation of the first service and desires to give their life to Christ and be baptized we would ask them to remain and the baptism would be conducted at the first of the second service.? If someone comes forward during the invitation of the second service, the baptism will take place prior to communion. We ask of each person attending…If you are in the high-risk category, you must decide what is best and most prudent for you. ? Please consider the recommendations of health care professionals to continue to remain sheltered in place during these early phases.? We cannot wait for you to get back with us but our first and foremost concern is your safety.Everyone is encouraged to wear a proper face covering and is responsible for bringing and using their own mask.We have some hand sanitizer, but we are struggling to find supplies thus if you have a small personal bottle, please bring it for your own use.???Please do not shake hands, hug or congregate in groups…remember, everyone is responsible to maintain proper social distancing. Please be careful when entering and exiting the parking areas as traffic will be different, both coming and going, since we will be offering two services. If you come to the 10:30 service, we ask that you stay in your car until 10:15 before entering the building.? This will give those attending the 8:30 service time to exit and time for a surface cleaning between services.More communications will follow…Because He Lives, mek ................
