Train Service from T.F. Green

T.F. Green Airport is conveniently connected to the MBTA commuter trains through the InterLink train station. Travelers can access the InterLink directly from the airport terminal through the skywalk. To get to the skywalk, proceed down the elevators to the ground level and walk to the far front left of the terminal, past the Visitor Information table, and look for signs directing to the InterLink connector. From the North:

Take Interstate 95 South to Exit 22A. Follow the signs towards Downtown/Convention Center. Go through the first light in the right hand lane. Take your first right after the light. Take the next right onto Exchange Street. After the next light, bear right between the Hotel and the Convention Center to the North Garage. The 4th level of the North Garage directly connects to the Convention Center.

From the South:

From the West:

Take Route 6 East to the "Route 6 East and I-195 South" on ramp. Take a right and stay to the right following the signs to Providence and Route 6 East (you will use part of the I-195 on-ramp to get onto Route 6 East). Stay on Route 6 East to the end (sign will read "6 East to 10 North") and stay to the left. Continue to the Dean Street Exit. Once on the exit ramp, stay left so that you will be on the left side of the island when you reach the light. Turn left onto Dean Street (4 lane road). Then immediately take your first right onto West Exchange Street to the Convention Center Garage. The 4th level of the North Garage directly connects to the Convention Center.

Walking Directions from Providence Train Station to Area Hotels:

Omni, One West Exchange Street: Proceed out the Gaspee Street entrance, facing the Rhode Island State House, and walk left towards the Providence Place Mall. Turn left onto Francis Street and walk for 1/5 miles, and turn right onto West Exchange Street. The hotel will be on the right.

Providence Biltmore, 11 Dorrance Street: Proceed out the Gaspee Street entrance facing the Rhode Island State House, and walk left towards the Providence Place Mall. Turn left onto Francis Street, and walk for 1/5 miles, continuing onto Dorrance Street for 125 feet. The hotel will be on the right.

Hilton Providence, 21 Atwells Avenue: Proceed out the Gaspee Street entrance, facing the Rhode Island State House, and walk left towards the Providence Place Mall. Turn left onto Francis Street and walk for 1/5 miles. Turn right onto Sabin Street for 1/5 miles. Turn slight right onto Atwells Avenue and the hotel will be on the right.

Courtyard Providence Downtown, 32 Exchange Terrace: Proceed out the Gaspee Street entrance, facing the Rhode Island State House, and walk left towards the Providence Place Mall.  Turn left onto Francis Street and walk for 0.3 miles.  Then turn left onto Exchange Terrace.  The hotel will be on the left.

Renaissance Providence, 5 Avenue of the Arts: Proceed out the Gaspee Street entrance, facing the Rhode Island State House, and walk left towards the Providence Place Mall.  Take a slight right onto Francis Street and walk for 0.1 miles then turn left onto Avenue of the Arts.  The hotel will be on the right.

Logan International Airport

Logan Airport is situated approximately 49 miles north of Providence. Outlined below are public and private transportation options.

The majority of international flights arrive at terminal E. At the Information Center they will communicate in one’s own language. The center of information is situated in terminal E leaving the customs area.

Massport provides complimentary shuttle bus service between airline terminals at the arrival levels, Airport Station on the MBTA Blue Line, the Water Transportation Terminal and Economy Parking. Massport shuttle bus service operates seven days per week. All shuttle buses are wheelchair lift equipped.

Train Service from Logan

The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) runs low cost commuter trains to Providence from Boston and other points in Massachusetts. Call 1-800-392-6100 or visit for schedules and fares. Regional trains take 48 minutes and range in price from $12.00 to 19.00

Amtrak offers many daily runs between South Station and Providence. Amtrak ranges from $22.00 - $45.00 and takes 40 minutes. Schedules and fares can be accessed at

South Station may be accessed from Logan Airport by either Silver Line Shuttle or Taxi. The Silver Line service takes approximately twenty minutes. An adult fare is $1.25. A taxi will cost about $15.00 and will take about 10 minutes.

The Providence Train station is located 5 blocks from the major hotels and Rhode Island Convention Center. Taxis are readily available outside the station. Cost is approximately $5.00

currently, 8 rental car companies operate at Logan International Airport. They include: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty.

In Terminals C & E, all rental car companies have direct line telephone boards connecting to the local facility and their worldwide reservation centers.

Each rental car company has complimentary shuttle buses that transport passengers to/from the terminal and the rental car facility. Shuttles run frequently and stop curbside on the arrival level for passengers to board. Departure level service is available on request.

Travelers with Disabilities

Massport Shuttle Buses serve all terminals at approximately 10 minute intervals, Massport shuttle buses are wheelchair lift-equipped. They also serve the MBTA Airport Station, Logan Water Shuttle dock and Economy Parking. Buses are equipped with a visual and audio stop announcement system. Distances from curbside drop off areas to airline ticket counters vary from 50 - 200 feet. Curbside skycap services are available from most airlines.

 Weather

 Rhode Island’s average temperature for the entire year is near 50 degrees, with April through June and September through mid-November the most delightfully moderate seasons. January and February are the coldest months, with a mean temperature near 29 degrees, and July and August the warmest, with a mean close to 72 degrees.

Rhode Island has no regular "rainy" or "dry" season, with precipitation fairly evenly distributed throughout the year. The first measurable snowfall of winter generally comes toward the end of November, but may be as late as January. The month of greatest snowfall is usually February.
