Special Education Advocacy Academy
What is this? It is a low-cost training for parents and others about Special Education advocacy.
What is an Academy? One day, hands-on course taught by lawyers that includes role playing and time for Q & A, networking with other parents.
What will I learn? Learn about special education law, Individual Education Programs (IEPs), Section 504, how to ask for assessments, accommodations and meetings, and about DRLC services.
How much does it cost? $10 but no one will be turned away if you cannot pay. Includes lunch, snacks, manual and personalized certificate, but you must RSVP and register.
