Audience Analysis: In this speech will be persuading my audience with facts to practice meditation.

General Purpose: To Persuade

Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to practice meditation.

Thesis: Meditation is the way to keep you body and mind healthy.

INTRODUCTION

I- (Attention grabber) If you feel that you are stressed and nervous all the time I have a something that could help you have a better live. I would actually recommend this to you all that want to have a good life experience with yourself… (Ethos) (Narrative)

II- (Establish Credibility) I started meditation a year ago, but I actually got serious about it a few months ago. (Pathos)

III- (Preview Topic of Purpose or Thesis) Meditation is the way to keep you body and mind healthy.

IV- (Preview main points) Before I start, I want you to know a few things that I will be talking about: What meditation is, types of meditation, how it works for your body and reasons to do it.

V- (Relevant/Motivate Audience) Meditation changes you in a way that you will not be able to explain, just feel. Experienced people can even get to nirvana. (Pathos)

BODY Chronological Pattern of Arrangement

I. (1st Main Point) What is meditation?

A. Meditation is a practice in which an individual trains the Maine or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or as an end in itself.

B. The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practice that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness.

II (2nd Main Point)Types of meditation

A. Guided

. Listening to music or voice that will guide you on how to do it

B. Aware

. Being aware of everything that is happening at the moment

. People/objects/movement/air/temperature...

C. Deep conversation with God

. Before sleeping/waking up having a deep conversation with God

. Getting on your knees and praying

. Going to church

III. (3rd Main Point) How does it work in your body

A. Meditation have many benefits to you body

. Insomnia and others

III. (3rd Main Point) Reasons to do it.

A. According to the project meditation website, meditation reduces the likelihood of being hospitalized for coronary disease by 87% (Logos) (Fact/Statistic)

B. And the possibility of getting cancer by 55%. (Logos)

C. Priscila Ortiz a friend of mine in Brazil says that meditation changed her life in a way that she can not explain. Priscila said it was really hard in the beginning and she thought about giving up many times, but after talking somebody that practice every day she was able to get some motivation and patience. Priscila today is able to feel a profound relaxation in her practice. (Pathos) (Example)

D. After a meditation in Iowa last year, Oprah said, "I walked away feeling fuller than when I'd come in. Full of hope, a sense of contentment, and deep joy. Knowing for sure that even in the daily craziness that bombards us from every direction, there is -- still -- the constancy of stillness. CONCLUSION

I - (Signal) To conclude meditation can change your life with a satisfaction you never felt before, I experience it everyday.

II - (Summarize main points) I hope I was able to intrigue you all after explaining a little about: What meditation is, types of meditation, how it works for your body and reasons to do it.

III - (Restate main points/Thesis) Meditation is the way to keep you body and mind healthy.

IV - (Challenge) If you have tried meditating before and didn't like it, I want you to come talk to me and I will explain why, I worked a lot on it before enjoying it. (Ethos)
