As we read, ponder, and pray about the Book of Mormon, the Holy Ghost will witness that it is true, that Jesus is the Christ, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s kingdom on the earth.Overview of the Book of MormonThe Lord preserved the Book of Mormon to come forth in the latter days. The Book of Mormon came forth by the power of God. The Book of Mormon writers saw our day and wrote what would be of most help to us. The Book of Mormon gives us greater power to resist temptation, avoid deception, and stay on the strait and narrow path. Lord remembers all people and will send forth His words to them.2 Nephi 30:1–8We become part of God’s covenant people when we repent and believe inJesus Christ. The Book of Mormon can help all people come to know Jesus Christ and live His gospel.2 Nephi 30:9–18Satan will not have power over the hearts of people during the Millennium, and righteousness and peace will prevail.2 Nephi 31:1–13Jesus Christ set the perfect example of obedience for us to follow. We must follow Jesus Christ, be baptized, and receive the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ, though sinless, was baptized to fulfill all righteousness.2 Nephi 31:14–21The Holy Ghost witnesses of the Father and the Son and brings a remission of sins.
