Stabilizing Trailer Restraints: STR-4200 Stabilizing Trailer Restraint as manufactured by Rite-Hite.

Mounting Type, Configuration and Hardware: In accordance with manufacturer's recommendations for application; as scheduled and indicated on Drawings.

Electrical Components, Connections and Wiring: UL listed or recognized.

Standard Vertical Load Rating: 35,000 lbs (15,876 kg).

Function:

Secures semi-trailer and/or intermodal container chassis to loading dock by engaging trailer rear impact guard (RIG) and/or trailer rear impact guard with obstructions with large rotating hook.

Restraint supports the trailer, reducing the vertical motion of the trailer.

Spring loaded, structural steel housing automatically positions unit when contacted by a backing truck.

Operation:

Hook mechanism and support functions controlled from a control panel mounted inside the building.

As trailer backs into position, RIG contacts spring loaded structural steel housing.

Housing rides down in its track, allowing RIG to move over the top of housing.

Dock attendant pushes lock button, which activates hook and support cylinders to secure trailer to dock.

Hook provides holding force in excess of 32,000 lb (14,500 kg).

Maintains constant contact with RIG and supports rear of trailer to help prevent vertical trailer movement during loading/unloading operations.

After servicing is complete, attendant pushes unlock button at control panel.

In the event a trailer is missing, or has a damaged RIG, Dok-Lok restraint will communicate a fault condition.

An audible alarm alerts operator that trailer has not been properly secured by Dok-Lok restraint; then operator may override fault condition and secure trailer by other means.

Light communication system automatically adjusts to proper operational mode.

Housing:

Enclosed, welded structural steel housing is constructed of 5/16 inches (8 mm) and 1/4 inches (6 mm) steel.

Designed to receive impact of trailers backing into position and support trailer.

Protects components from damage by weather, dirt and debris.

Finishes:

Tracks, Base Plates, Housings: Corrosion resistant finish per ASTM B117 Salt Spray Testing (standard), protects inside and outside of steel housing.

Rotating Steel Hooks: Yellow dichromate finish.

Hook Mounting Components, Track Anchors: Zinc Plated

Mounting:

Low-profile, mounted to steel plate embedded in dock face or secured by 12 anchor bolts plus 22 inches (559 mm) of weld to the pit curb angle.

Installation does not require modification to the dock leveler.

Mounting Force: In excess of 100,000 lbs (45,359 kg).

Hydraulics:

Carriage supported with two heavy duty 3-1/2 inch (89 mm) ID double acting hydraulic cylinders.

Hook positioned with 1-1/4 inch (32 mm) ID double acting cylinder.

Unit can be powered with its own hydraulic power unit or operate using the existing hydraulic leveler power unit.

All fittings are JIC or "O" Ring Flange. Hydraulic fluid is biodegradable.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Unless specifically noted on quotation, all electrical including hook-up is the responsibility of others. See manufacturer's data for wiring requirements between power source and unit. Delete options for motors not required.

Universal Restraint Controllers:

Provide flexibility for customizing sequence of operation to most requirements.

Operator controls mounted in a gasketed control panel. NEMA 4X panel and enclosure assembly. UL Approved.

Control panel is fully operational at all times, does not require key activation.

Hook mechanism and limit switches are enclosed in structural steel housing.

Self-diagnostic Program, which greatly simplifies trouble-shooting by checking inputs and outputs.

Interlock capable. Optimizes sequence of operation to specific customer needs.

Security system interface. Allows connection to building security system in event of power loss or attempted trailer theft.

Power Source Requirements: 110/115 volt, single phase, 60 Hz, with a 20 Amp service circuit.

Communication Systems:

Light Systems: LED light systems.

Outside Communication System:

Full-time flashing red or green lights with signs instruct the truck driver when it is safe to back in or pull out.

Low-profile light box design helps avoid damage from backing trailers.

Vertical Barrier Restraints: VBR-300ALP and VBR-300MNL (Ground Stored) Vertical Barrier Restraints as manufactured by Rite-Hite.

Description: Ground stored system designed to secure semi-trailer to loading dock by engaging trailer's rear impact guard (RIG) with a large, vertical barrier.

Mounting: Low profile ground stored/face of pit mounted as indicated on Drawings.

Operation:

Barrier mechanism controlled manually from a control panel mounted inside building.

After truck is backed into dock, dock attendant reaches down with a control rod and inserts it under a lifting bar on the vertical barrier. Attendant raises the barrier to secure the trailer to the dock.

ALP - When RIG is secured, inside lights on control panel automatically change to green; outside communication lights change to red.

MNL - After visual verification that the RIG is secured, attendant flips a manual toggle switch to change the inside light to green and the outside light to red.

Vertical Barrier Restraints: VBR-100 (Wall Mounted) Vertical Barrier Restraints as manufactured by Rite-Hite

Function:

Designed to secure semi-trailer to loading dock by engaging trailer's rear impact guard (RIG) with a large, vertical barrier.

Spring-loaded, structural steel housing automatically positions the unit when contacted by a backing truck. Barrier controlled manually by a dock attendant inside the building.

Mounting Type, Configuration and Hardware: In accordance with manufacturer's recommendations for product application; as scheduled and indicated on Drawings.

Operation:

After truck is backed into dock, the vertical barrier mechanism shall be engaged by inserting a steel control rod into the lifting fork on the barrier which allows the dock attendant to raise the vehicle restraint into a locked position on the trailer's RIG or ICC bar.

Once the barrier is raised, the outside communication will immediately change to red.

Dock attendant visually verifies proper engagement, depresses the lock button on the control panel, and inside lights change to green.

Ability to resist pullout forces in excess of 32,000 lbs (14,500 kg) allows restraint of virtually any trailer with tires from 30 inches to 44 inches (700 mm - 1200 mm) in diameter.

Operation:

Truck approaches the loading dock, it positions between the dual wheel guides.

It then contacts the restraint's trigger device, which begins moving toward the dock using the energy of the trailer.

This enables locking arm to size tire and rise to its full height on rearmost tire.

When trailer is in position, attendant pushes lock button on control panel inside building, which activates locking assembly.

Inside, outside red and green communication lights signal trailer is engaged.

To release the restraint, the dock attendant presses the unlock button.

After the locking assembly is disengaged, communication lights change to indicate the truck is no longer engaged and is free to move forward.
