These are also called time words (in year 1) and occasionally time connectives (they used to be called this). They are used in instructions to sequence the method and make the writing more interesting. These are similar to the adverbs we looked at a few weeks ago, but the children need to use one that are relevant for instructions – first, next, after that etc.It is also another look into using adverbs at the start of sentences, something they build on and learn in greater depth in Year 3 (and something we introduced 2 weeks ago). The task for today is at the end of the PowerPoint and it builds on yesterday’s task. They need to write a set of instructions about getting ready to go to bed that includes both imperative verbs and time adverbs.Maths (45-60 Minutes)To be able to create equal groups via sharing.Optional Starter – do a daily 10 activity online - It can also be found by googling daily 10. The children will need to choose level 2 – Today choose an addition task.Today’s lesson builds on yesterday’s lesson and focuses on sharing to divide, staying with the equal groups. There is a video on class Dojo to explain the difference between grouping and sharing. There are 3 challenges for the children to work through plus an additional optional challenge.R.E. (45-60 Minutes)To learn about forgiveness in the context of the Lord’s Prayer. The children will be looking at the lines ‘And forgive us our trespasses,as we forgive those who trespass against us.’ They will be learning about forgiveness and completing a reflective task to think about times they have had to say sorry to someone, or times when someone has said sorry to them. The task is a creative one that can be drawn or created using any resources you have at home, even things like lego etc.Extra Activities(Some things to do if you want toWatch Joe Wicks P.E. videos in the morningTidy your bedroom – follow your instructions from yesterdayBake something deliciousCreate a drama piece on a story you have readMake top trumps cards on a subject that interests youAsk your parents if there are any jobs you can help them with! ................
