Outstanding Rural Support Staff Member

Jeanne Pierson

North Andrew R-VI School District

Jeanne Pierson is a person with many skills and talents and she wears many hats. Mrs. Pierson is currently in her 21st year at the North Andrew School District as an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. She also serves as the Board of Education Secretary and Bookkeeper for the school district.

Jeanne is an individual who puts everything she has into her job. The Superintendent’s Office is located near the front door, so Jeanne is the first person a patron will come in contact with when they enter the building. Mrs. Pierson always has a smile on her face and is friendly to anyone that comes in contact with her. Even when constantly being bombarded by elementary, middle school, and high school parents, she always kindly answers their questions or guides them in the right direction. She does this while being an expert at multi-tasking numerous jobs.

Jeanne is described as someone constantly going out of her way to help others. One way she does this is with her great cooking. A few weeks back, she provided a great meal for the Homeless Shelter in St. Joe, Missouri, all out of the goodness of her heart. She always provides great meals for the district back to school in-services for the teachers, meals for the monthly board meetings and for the end of school recognition breakfast.

Among her many responsibilities is putting together the monthly district newsletter, which is always professionally done and she then is responsible for mailing out over 800 copies to the district patrons. On top of her regular duties of administrative assistant and bookkeeper, she is constantly looking for ways to better the North Andrew School District while helping the students and their families. This year, she started a “Campus Cupboard” program. This program is for Middle School and High School students that have graduated from the Elementary Back-Pack Buddy Program. It provides much needed weekend food for all of those that may not have the proper nourishment at home over the weekend.

Jeanne Pierson loves people, works hard and always tries to lift the spirits of those around her. These characteristics represent all that is good in the North Andrew School District, making it fitting for her selection as Missouri’s Outstanding Rural Support Staff member for the 2016-2017 school year.
