Stand Up 2 Cancer (SU2C) information table

•     This organization is donating 18 million dollars to pancreatic cancer research and is having a walk on Sunday, July 12.  Susan will be forwarding another email with more details.  We need volunteers for Sunday morning at 6:45am for PR to stand in alliance for pancreatic cancer at Busch stadium at 8th and Clark.  You should have all received a separate email about this last night.  If you want a map of the walk or more information, contact Maris (email above).

St. Louis Magazine - Joayne

Give-Receive Program:  St. Louis Magazine is offering a benefit that if we purchase subscriptions at $18/year, then we get $6 of the subscription.  They also will promote our events in the magazine.

Also set up on our website (coming soon!).

Links for the Cure - Joayne

Monday August 24th at the Landings at Spirit

$150/person, $600/foursome.  $25 for lunch and $50 for dinner for those who are not golfing.

How you can help:

•     Golfers:  144 available and 17 are signed up.  WE NEED MORE GOLFERS TO COMMIT BY SIGNING UP ASAP!!!  St. Louis is notorious for people signing up at the last minute.  We can not afford to wait and hope we get enough people.  If we do not have over 100 golfers in the next two or so weeks, we may not be able to have Links for a Cure this year.

o        Ideas to increase attendance:

♣         Put our posters in sporting goods stores

♣         Talk to local companies to see if they would sponsor a team for their company.  Please let Sue Yedlin sueyedlin@ or Joayne know before contacting any company to avoid more than one contact person.

♣         Put information on any website that would attract golfers..  Stephanie has put on Craigslist in non-profit area.  Look for local golf websites, send out Facebook notice.  The link to Facebook is: )

♣         Contact local churches/synagogues/businesses and ask them to put into their bulletin/newsletter..  If you have a connection to the place, you are more likely to succeed.

♣         PSA should be done next week, maybe get air time on the golf channel and other local channels

♣         If you have a contact at a radio/tv station, please let Tom know – tmorgan54@.  We need personal contacts to get the stations to use our PSA and read our press release on air.  The press release is attached.

♣         We are considering if we can appear on Show Me St. Louis to promote Links with signs.  Tom will report back.

♣         Send personal emails or an e-vite with the link to our registration site, to sign up for Links:

♣        Use Caring Bridge website – to share your message.

•      Corporate sponsors:  Currently have 2 bronze corporate sponsors at $1000 each.  Any sponsor that makes a $1000 or more will get promoted at all our 2009 events (happy hours, PurpleStride, Links for a Cure).
