While the COVID-19 pandemic may prevent us from meeting in person, we hope you’ll find creative ways to share this information about the Elks National Foundation. Feel free to use this in Elks publications or as a reference should you encounter questions about the ENF. For more information, visit the ENF website at enf or contact the ENF office at enf@ or 773/755-4728.#HoopShootServesWhat to Say: On October 6, the ENF launched the Hoop Shoot Service Scorecard, a new virtual opportunity that combines gritty kids and fun with the Elks’ spirit of volunteerism. Each month features a new theme and 10 corresponding projects that vary in degrees of difficulty and time commitment. The ENF is calling on past, present and future Hoop Shooters; Elks; and gritty kids everywhere to get involved. The launch of the Service Scorecard coincided with the launch of a brand-new YouTube show, Hoop Shooting the Breeze, which will feature a special Hoop Shoot guest every month. There’s Still Time to Support Pearl Harbor! What to Say: At the 2019 Elks National Convention in St. Louis, then-National President Mike Luhr called on the Elks to raise funds for Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Hawaii. The Elks launched the Pearl Harbor Campaign last fall in partnership with Pacific Historic Parks. Funds will help replace old outdoor exhibits, upgrade static displays with digital exhibits and interactive displays, and enhance the memorial's virtual education program. The campaign—which was supposed to close June 1—has been extended to Veterans Day, November 11. We are more than halfway to the goal of $780,000. The MVS scholarship is open to high school seniors who are U.S. citizens. The 500, four-year scholarships are awarded based on academics, service, leadership and financial need. The ENF will award the 20 top finalists scholarships ranging from $20,000 to $50,000, and they will be invited to attend the 2021 Leadership Weekend. The remaining 480 runners-up will receive $4,000 scholarships. The ENF needs our help to spread the word. Tell the high school seniors in your life about the MVS scholarship, and share the application with them.Learn more: Head to enf.MVS to learn more about the MVS scholarship. You’ll find the application there, too. Reach a GoalWhat to say: Your support makes the work of the ENF possible. Every year, the National President announces a per-member-giving goal. This year, the goal is $4.80. If our Lodge reaches the per-member-giving goal this year, we’ll be eligible for a Gratitude Grant next year—the ENF’s way of thanking Lodges for their support!
